Posted by KawaYou could make it like Diamond/Pearl/Platinum so that the poison would be cured if it would faint the Pokemon on the overworld. Of course, it may just be better suited as an option when the actual game-building tools are released, if you're still doing that. |

There is no quest.
The event Darkrai was just given to you, same as the event Shaymin (and probably Arceus, whenever that winds up happening) will be. |

Finding Cresselia solves that problem.
EDIT: Besides, the in-game Darkrai event (still inaccessible... anywhere) begins with the player having a nightmare. While it's vaguely referenced a few other places, nothing else really directly affects it. |

It should be up now.
(My Wii is ~300 miles away from me, so I can't check myself.) |

Even with all that, it's still a new game for $18. Is that really so much?
(If the combination of prices cost more than $40, it'd be worth complaining. As it is, it's still under half the price of most new releases, and certainly below what the first six games individually cost.) |

Posted by ShadowTailsWhat are you talking about? Fantina has a Gengar, and you're forced to fight her. |

Whoops, forgot about that.
Check Victory Road, supposedly a trainer there (possibly a bit out of the way) has a Gengar. |

PSO/U has always been intended for online play. Complaining about the offline mode being restricted is a bit... silly.
That said, once you finish the story in PSU, you can play with your own character. Also, Ambition of the Illuminus (the expansion, although it can stand alone) allows that for story mode. I play PSU and occasionally private server PSO: EDIT: Stupid smiley. |

For clarity's sake, Ambition of the Illuminus has you playing episode 2 (takes place about 3 months after the original's story mode?), which was previously only available by playing online. You play it exclusively as your own character.
Also, playing outside of the story is significantly better this time around. Regular PSU's extra mode (the one in which you could play as your own character; you may not have unlocked that) was extremely limited. This one's reasonably close to the online mode. |

This is a weird question, but is there a BIOS setting to determine what the jacks are registered as? My (admittedly, it only has the line out/microphone/line in jacks) Realtek onboard audio lets you change whether they're output or input. If they're set to input when they're supposed to be output, or vice versa, they won't work properly for what you're trying to do. |

Posted by RetroRainThe GBA version gave him young Link's voice from Ocarina of Time. Guards in the game specifically tell him that he can stay out late "when you're grown up". Other characters call him a kid ("You look strong for a kid. How much can you lift?", "I'll bet you can't wait until you are old enough to use a sword!", "Hey kid! You can open a chest after paying Rupees!"). Melee's trophy for Young Link specifically states that he was a young boy in the original Zelda and most later games. So, no. We don't know he's an adult. Quite the opposite, in fact. |

The original 150 didn't include Houndoom. Therefore, I cannot agree that the first generation had the best designs. Also, Pichu is adorable, and I'm not sure how much of a stretch to have a baby Pikachu it is; it's the third generation games that got ridiculous (Plusle + Minun, anyone?). The second generation also brought us Skarmory, Wobbuffet, Lanturn (say what you like, anglerfish are awesome and totally underrepresented except in Donkey Kong Country), Murkrow (still one of the most stylish birds in the games), Smeargle, Sneasel, Heracross, Lugia, and Ho-oh. I suppose that's somewhat to personal preference, though; it brought a couple of rather stupid designs, too (lookin' at you, Corsola).
Seriously, people always seem to underrate just how crappy several of the generation 1 designs were. Venomoth? Cheap, poison-type Butterfree knockoff. Goldeen/Seaking? Look everyone, it's a fish! Amazing, huh? Not even going to bother worrying about how there are two different purple dinosaur lines (well, Nidoqueen's a bit closer to blue...), or two different western dragons (Charizard + Dragonite; who ripped off whom?) There's also the fact that there were 33 poison types, out of the 151 in the game. Was there any real purpose in having two different plant/poison leaf-stone evolution lines, or two different bug/poison pairings? Why is the huge blob of poison different from the floating huge blob of poison? The correct answer is nothing; both will die equally to a psychic (or earthquake; yay earthquake), and failing that, they have almost identical movepools (ignoring the craptacular Smog, which for some reason, Muk doesn't get). Even looking on the spritework for the games, there's a lot to be desired. Mewtwo, for example, looked incredibly deformed, and the less said about Golbat (and Seaking and Wigglytuff for that matter), the better. Seriously, just look at them! (Bear in mind, these are updated sprites. The original Japanese releases had different ones, with a bit less... personality? Needless to say, Yellow has an entirely new set, as well, but they stick much more closely to the aesthetic used by the anime and later games.) I will, however, say that there were several truly awesome designs in those games. Porygon is still amazing (seriously, it's like a duck... from the INTERNET), and Farfetch'd is just weird enough to be cool without being... well... Nosepass. Articuno looks great, Charizard is cool (if somewhat generic), and the R/B sprite for Tentacruel is awesome even if it's a bit ridiculous. (To be quite honest, the majority of people I see in person claiming that R/B/Y were the best are the ones who played it back when they were kids because it was cool at the time, then quit when it became "kiddy", often before Gold/Silver even came out. Ahh, nostalgia, you are a cruel mistress.) Kawa: You forgot to mention the part where Focus Energy had the opposite effect of what it was supposed to, and Gust was a normal type move despite all of the supporting materials claiming it should be flying. |

R/B/Y were also a bit more compact than G/S/C. 8 gyms + Elite Four compared to 16 gyms + Elite 4 + Red; they can afford to be a bit more spread out (even if the wild Pokemon in Kanto are very much on the low side). Besides, from my experience in the old ones at least, trainer battles gave much better experience than wild Pokemon ever did.
For Ilex Forest, they probably kept the wild Pokemon levels down to stop you from completely steamrolling Bugsy. I mean, the poor guy has a Metapod and a Kakuna on his team, for crying out loud. I doubt they wanted another Misty (where there were only 1-2 Pokemon you could get in the area that were strong against her if you didn't choose Bulbasaur and didn't pick up a Pikachu in Viridian Forest). (For what it's worth, they lowered Whitney's levels slightly, so the Miltank should be... about as bad as it was before, considering it can attack ghosts. All of the later gym leaders are either about the same as before or stronger.) But yeah, seeing how I lack a flashcart and the emulators are... poor, I'm going to be sitting this out until I can get my hands on a US copy. |
