Actually, it was just a showcase of the types of special moves. MetaKnight's were shown, but that was because he was chosen as the model for them.
Wasn't the Shuttle Loop a move that you could do with the Wing ability in Kirby's Super Star? One way or another, Metaknight's moves seem to focus on speed... he seems almost like a melee-based Fox/Falco, what with the B-down reflector and all. The assist trophies seem interesting, as usual. And nobody can say that they'd prefer Andross be playable! I can actually see assist trophies providing many new opportunities for Pokemon-esque effects, on characters that aren't Pokemon. |

It should remind you more of Mario Land, seeing how it was lifted conceptually directly from it, particularly with the "bullets break blocks" thing.
Still looks ace, though. You could pretty easily simulate one of the levels from Mario Land that featured it by simply adding a force scroll, I'd bet. |

The problem is, unless you know something I don't, the Pokeball modifier code for Melee made all the Pokeballs have the same Pokemon. You weren't (except in one case) enabling anything; you were just disabling everything else.
(That one case was setting them to have Metamon/Ditto in them. In that case, you were enabling Ditto's useless appearance.) (I suppose you could probably trigger the "All legendary Pokemon or Wobbuffet" settings or something, but that seems about it.) |

I liked the announcer. He could've been the one from Pokemon Stadium, after all.
Today... Pokemon Trainer's Special Moves! I'm questioning the worth of Ivysaur's normal special move, given that it attacks straight up, but... oh well. Looks like Ivysaur's Up+B is almost the same as Zero Suit Samus' one. Meanwhile, Charizard reminds me a lot of Bowser. Squirtle looks to have Yoshi's B+Forward and his own little B+up of the generic "launch upward" variety. Look out behind you, Yoshi! |

Gliding!
Looks to be a variant of Peach's floaty-jump, but with a different control scheme. I'd hope it lasts longer, as well. Peach's floating ability only lasted so long. Nintendo's new air force? |

There are several VB games that are truly awesome. VB Wario Land, for one.
(Yes, I own a Virtual Boy. Got it dirt cheap, too.) |

Posted by Grey MarioWhat's wrong with that? Most characters have crappy horizontal recovery, anyway... Today... Wario Ware! Looks to be an awesome level. Although, I do have to wonder what "reward" will be for winning the challenges. One of Ike's air A-button attacks is visible in that screenshot. Looks much like one of Marth/Roy's, somewhat unsurprisingly. |

I've hit a bit of a snag trying to edit levels in Ecco the Dolphin (Genesis version). The levels themselves are in an easy enough format to understand; the problem is that the 128x128 chunks are compressed, as are the level graphics.
Does anyone know of a particularly good way to figure out how to decompress these things? I've been thinking that the best way would be to try to trace through when they're loaded into RAM, but I don't know 68k assembly yet, and am therefore hoping for a different way I have an example in both compressed and uncompressed form, if someone wants to see it. |

Actually, now that I look at it... the rain one has some little aura around Mario and Kirby, but not Peach (who's not getting wet) or Wario (who is). Mario's is the largest; perhaps it'll be a speed penalty the longer you're in the rain?
I'll agree that the arrow one will almost certainly be damage for the losers. Somehow the "Jump!" one makes me suspect that whoever's on the ground when the hammer hits will get stunned, similar to Donkey Kong's B+Forward (if they're mean) or Mewtwo's B+Down/Jigglypuff's B+Up (if they're nicer to the players). EDIT: Pit's Descent. Video from the Subspace Emissary mode. |

Tweaker: That's a broken link. However, assuming the version on Hacking CuLT is up to date, it doesn't work for this, anyway. The Kosinski decompressor creates a lot of gibberish from the in-ROM data while the Nemesis decompressor crashes on the tiles.
GuyPerfect: I tried that, but the results were too unpredictable to be useful. Various values that moved verbatim into the RAM, a few other ones that'd make the whole thing explode... So... yeah. Trying that "read through the trace of the routine" thing. 68k seems easy enough, as long as I keep a reference handy. |

I remember the PC version of C&C. I also remember the dinopark levels. They were neat.
And weird. But fun nonetheless. |

It's probably a signed value. I don't think you'll be able to put it above $7F, unfortunately enough. |

You could always just set a password for the computer. I don't know of any direct password things for the various browsers. |

Diddy Kong's special moves!
Looks like a copy of Link's arrows (+ self-damage from Roy's B-button attack) and a vaguely-similar-to-Fox/Falco's-B-up-move with a few quirks. Looks like Samus's A+forward in air move doesn't have fire any more, but instead beam-shot appearances. Recovery moves that require charging strike me as unfortunate, unless he loses much of his downward velocity when he initiates the move. |

Meta Knight!
It's about time he got his own page put up. Now the only one missing (out of the currently revealed new characters) is Snake. His sword seems to glow in the dark in this picture... |

Posted by DarkSlayaBecause they're irrational frankophiles? In all honesty, I consider the -or spelling to be more accurate to the source (color versus colour versus color -oris (Latin)). -our seems to be a holdover from Middle English, which was influenced deeply by French, which only somewhat resembles Latin (in spelling) despite having originated directly from it.Posted by sirhax0r Doughnut is just weird. That was probably a word whose prefix was shrunk to the spoken part in American English for the sake of intuitiveness. Or perhaps it became a part of American English by way of Portuguese/Spanish (I'm not even going to touch the football/soccer thing.) |
