Official word is...

In other news, not really a staff update, but I disabled the fucking <style> tag after someone broke the living shit out of his post with it.

Combine that with all the various problems with it recently, and feh, good bye.

Also, I recall a theory that PSII was actually the base of Sonic 1, programming-wise... Unfortunately it was on the s2beta page that is now down.
I'm pretty sure that was referring almost exclusively to the object-handling code, which Yuji Naka carried over to many of his programming projects, albeit in more or less refined versions.

There's a marked improvement, but there are still a decent number of corners that either lack the lines for the curves or have extra lines. A couple actually have the lines shifted over a tile where they shouldn't be.

The worst offenders for the flat curve thing are the segments near the two waterfalls in the northeast, the small waterfall coming from the cave, and the tiny green island in the top center. There are extra lines on the island in the southwest and the area below the fortress in the northern portion of the map.

Basically, the way I'd suggest putting them in is to put them where the edge changes direction from a horizontal or vertical to a 45 degree angle or vice versa; don't put them where the angle of the cliff doesn't change.

The only other problem I see from a purely mechanical standpoint is just to the left of the 2 sign. The slanted part of the desert cliff, if you extend it down, suddenly appears to be flatly horizontal for an 8x8 area. I'd suggest shifting the green area to the left of the sign (including the fortress) down by a block and extending the slant of the green area one more tile.

Then again, I'm not that good at perspective, so it may be fine how it is.

The website is funny. The banner is in Japanese, with the (opaque) American image loaded over it. It's also very slow to update the "List posts by date" section.

Nobody really thought ZS Samus would play the same as regular, did they?

Does Zero Suit Samus have a Final Smash? Something to ponder, I guess.

It is a consumable item, how many consumable items allow you to use their effects multiple times?
How many consumable items have an effect like that? Closest thing I can think of is the stuff that you throw (Bob-omb, etc.); everything else is instant effect, possibly lasting a while (such as Starman/Metal Box/etc.).

In other words, I agree with Squash/Adamant.

We all know that no matter how it ends, there'd probably be at least one person bitching complaining about how things went. It's a fact of the universe.

I, like most people, have problems remembering how stuff goes when it's going good. I think the group on this board seemed to do alright.

(My main memory about incarnation 2 was the constant complaints by Tomguy et al. about having their positions removed, until they were put back.)

So you don't want trolling. That was not the point I made.

I was talking about your users.
There have always been bad apples. When did that become a new thing?

Ordinarily, when I see a bad apple, I throw it away.
Also, keep in mind he is Local Moderator here, or was last I checked.
I've seen worse from all levels of user. Look through the archives, if you want.

Madman200, look in General. 24 hours ago, this wasn't locked, so it isn't locked now. A rollback rolls back everything.

(Complaints still go to the staff not into the thread.)

PSlugworth: I've yet to see a board system that doesn't have the "New Topic" link still visible in topics. I think it's just a convenience thing typically; the problems here may be helped by simply increasing the distance between the two or rewording things slightly, such as "Add Reply" instead of "New Reply".

Hmm. I suppose bothering to post in a lot of the Landfilled threads would qualify as an infraction of the rules in some way, anyway.

(Either spamming or flaming typically. Both are bad, last I checked.)

But do we really need bug zappers? They only lead to people being obnoxious, anyway, and then complaining about getting in trouble for being dumb.

I still don't quite get it, although I know the 6502 was the processor (and accompanying assembly language) for the NES.

Sorry, still have some hp left after your attack TGG, and I use a Max Potion to fully heal myself. Then I shall attack you with Bite.
But you're a Pokemon. And not even one with Item Master. You can't use human-made items, much less in the same turn you attack.

That doesn't look at all like Ninji Saga 2. Something should be done to fix thi-*shot*

Looks neat. The Koopa looks a bit odd, though, but I suppose that's artistic preference.

As if buying the iPhone (for $600) wasn't enough, battery replacements are $80 each (so if something goes wrong, well...)

The following question is, what are the other companies doing?
They replace your battery for free?
I have a MotoRAZR v3m. I got the phone for -$50 (with a 2-year contract). A battery costs $45, and I can put it in myself. Apple's i-products seem to consistently require you to send them in in order to get the batteries replaced.

I don't type on the phone, so I can't discuss the other questions. I do know some phones have full keyboards, though.

stuff
Fire Red, Leaf Green, Emerald, Crystal, and Yellow don't really count as separate games. Fire Red/Leaf Green are just Red and Blue ported to the R/S engine, after all, while Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald are just their respective generation modified slightly.

If anything, I'd consider the main games of the generations to be Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald, if nothing else for the enhancements made for each one.

(Honestly, how does the wussy little gymleader from Cerulean come anywhere near being champion material, anyway? The complete lack of Blue as a character disappoints me, as well.)
