Ah, I see what you mean. It's not really good to have code cross boundaries. Well, it's not that it isn't good, but it tends to be a little tricky to manage when you're dealing with bankswitching.
In this case, I had to do funky stuff with the banks in order to have the rom be readable in SMB level editors, but that was mostly for the people that didn't want to apply my patch over and over. ____________________ |

Most likely, the problem is because there's too much data being written. The reason that's a problem is because the loop that writes the data to the PPU ends up continuing after vblank ends, because there's still data to write. If you write to $2006, or do anything that messes with the PPU address (like accessing $2007) outside of vblank, the PPU starts rendering from the updated PPU address midscreen, instead of where it's intended to be.
Also because SMB3 probably updates the screen's scrolling after the writes to $2007 are finished, it ends up trying to set the scrolling after the screen is already rendering, and due to the way the PPU works, the update doesn't occur properly. That's why the screen would hop to the top of the level, instead of just jumping to random places. So in short, you can't write too much data, so you'll have to find a way around it. ____________________ |

Posted by blackhole89 You could allow connections on ports 6666, 6668, and 5555. I can't connect to port 6667 while I'm at school either, so I have to use 6666 for kafuka. And yes, please host a node. I know emunet's netsplits were the subject of ridicule, but in cases like this, I'd prefer a netsplit over a entire-network-isn't-working-at-the-moment. ____________________ |

It's been down since at least noon for me, and it's 3:30 right now, so...
It's responding to ping now, but I get connection refused when I try to connect. So the connection is working now, but I guess the IRC server itself isn't running. ____________________ |

First, you might've been a large board, but now you're a small board. Your first step would be a great downsizing in the number of forums you have. Remember, the main purpose of having several different categories is so that no singular topic dominates all of the others.
Second, bump up the text size. It's 2012, we're not stuck in 800x600 land anymore. Third, make a clear and concise decision as to who you want to populate your board. Having a bunch of users who do nothing but harass everyone, or having a bunch of users who have repeatedly proven themselves to be unable to contribute anything worthwhile is not a good idea for a thriving community. Quality over quantity, etc. Being down to 10 quality users and 2 posts a day is still better than having 50 users and 100ppd that are nothing but fluff. Fourth, ditch the legacy, because it's no longer relevant. As in, you might've started as a rom hacking centric forum, but that obviously isn't the case anymore. Maybe you guys no longer have a focus, and maybe you're better off that way. Fifth, "board2"? Change your name, guys; nobody's going to know what this means. Hell, even something like "bored2death" would be better. If you guys are all programmers, you should post about your programming projects. Like to play video games? Discuss what you're playing. Like a particular song or a particular band? That's good to post about too. Who knows, you might find you'll attract some like-minded peeps and find a new interest for the board to develop around. (Also hi, I haven't posted here in 4 years. Sup?) ____________________ |

Posted by KyarguPosted by Drag I meant for guests. Also, what is the font size even measured in? It's set to "68" for me, but I have no idea what that means. 68 twips? ____________________ |
