So a friend of mine who lives on the same floor I do wants to know...
Does anyone (in general) do any NGage homebrew? He's thinking about starting to use his NGage again. ____________________ |

Did you hand draw those, or did you modify existing sprites?
Either way, not bad. ____________________ |

I thought it did too. He's learning Java, maybe that's why he's interested.
I already know Java, and I don't really think it's a good platform to base a *game* system around... Java isn't really made for games, nor is it the best choice for a language to make a game in. At least in my opinion. ____________________ |

I have a Wii, three wiimotes (one of them is broken... pointing, sound, buttons, etc all still work, but the accelerometers (motion sensors) are dead), two nunchucks, and a bunch of games.
The music in some of the Wii channels is pretty cool. ____________________ |

Kind of an old picture of me from this summer (I'm at college orientation, which is why I'm wearing the hat), but it sums me up pretty well. I'll take a newer picture of me at some point once I feel like it, but I don't really look much different than that... just minus the hat. ____________________ |

Posted by DSMagnum My ex-high school (I'm glad I'm in college now) used websense. The way we got around it is we kept typing the url into the address bar over and over and eventually it let us through. One of my teachers had the projector on, so we could see her screen, and the monitoring software was displayed. All of the computers have both firefox and IE on them... so WHY do people still use IE?!?!? People were using IE to browse MYSPACES!! In fact, people do that using their laptops and the school's wlan during other classes. Ugh. Why myspace? That site sucks on so many levels. Facebook is 10000x better! ____________________ |

Until there's a programming forum, I can't really post this anywhere but here. Once there is a programming forum, please move this thread there, thanks.
Anyway, I would like to use the OPL3 emulator from MAME. I have the source code and such, but I don't quite know how to correctly "borrow" this code without people coming after me screaming "GPL COPYLEFT OPENSOURCE >8( >8( >8(" (note, I have no idea what the smiley code for *angryface* is). I've read the licensing document, but I'm a little confused:
Yeah, I don't plan on selling it.
At first, I don't think I'll need to edit this source code. If I don't edit it, do I need to include the unmodified source code anyway? If I do modify the source code at all, I know then I'll be *required* to include it with any source distributions.
Does that mean that ALL of my source code must use this license, or do I simply just need to include the licensing document to accompany the code I took from MAME? ____________________ |

Well, I *try* to sleep well, but my roommate just makes it impossible for that to happen. He likes getting up really ass early. See, on my room application, I put down that I like staying up late, and I don't like waking up early. He put that he doesn't like staying up late, and that he does like waking up early, and SOMEHOW we got matched. I've been going to bed a very consistant 3 AM every night, and waking up to my alarm clock at 9:15 (if I have class), or at around 12 PM.
Today was a day where I don't have any morning classes, and thus I could sleep in. However... you guys know how my roommate is, right? I used to complain about him a lot in IRC. My roommate is a living, breathing furby. I swear he has aspbergers... he has a LOT of the traits an aspbergers person would have, but he hasn't been tested or anything. He was homeschooled his whole life, and he didn't really go out often, since the people in the neighborhood were "jerks" apparently. This year at college is probably the most time he's ever spent with other people. He's sheltered, lacks common sense, repeats EVERYTHING he hears, randomly throughout the day, for no reason at all, INCLUDING songs, or song fragments. He heard the Mona Pizza song, but he likes singing fragments of the Japanese version (even though he mispronounces EVERYTHING). The song he's most obsessed with is from Wario Ware Smooth Moves. It's the song that plays in between microgames on 9-volt's stage. (G--D--F---A-G-F-G-G-BC-D--------) He has an extremely limited vocal range, so he can only sing maybe an octave and a half to two octaves. He's COMPLETELY tone-deaf, and cannot sing at ALL. It's not that he can't get the key right, but he doesn't know where the notes are, relative to each other. He just knows whether the next note is "lower" or "higher", and then just raises or lowers his voice random amounts. So anyway, this morning, I was trying to sleep, since I didn't have to wake up until around 12 AM. He was doing *something* related to his classes, and he kept singing that small part of the 9-volt song. EVERY TIME HE DID, it woke me up. So basically, I was constantly bouncing between awake and asleep, so my memory consists of just a straight line of 9-volt song this morning. I think I counted around 30. I can't tell him to shut up... it'll just shut him up for a while, and then he'll get right back at it. He has a *VERY* annoying sounding voice, coupled with that inability to sing... I'm really angry about this, because I try to be quiet at night when he's asleep, but when it's morning and I'm asleep, he doesn't mind me and he slams the door 20 times going in and out of our room, one time even watched this EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS JAPANESE SAILOR MOON thingy... like 10 episodes of it! And he wouldn't turn it down. He'll "whisper" random shit, and like today, he'll sing some TINY fragment of any song (for example, he'll sing "leaves others in the duuuuust" from Mona Pizza. That's it. Just that small TINY fragment of that song) I can't function when I've been woken up from sleep... I can't tell him to turn it down or do anything. I can only just lay there annoyed. And then he says *I'M* loud at night, where I very lightly close the door, holding the knob so it doesn't click loudly, I lightly step around... ARGH. My roommate really makes me miserable, guys. Be thanking EVERYTHING in the world that you don't have to live with him. So yeah, that's basically been every day this year. Sleeping just doesn't work. If it's not HIM waking me up, it's something else, like YESTERDAY, they were POUNDING and HAMMERING and SLAMMING on the outside door (which is just on the other side of the wall that my bed's against), to add some stupid fucking card reader that doesn't even work yet. Why 7 in the morning? ...did I mention I hate people? ____________________ |

Just so you guys know, I don't have a problem with people with aspbergers. I was just saying that I (and a few other people on the floor) think he has it, although he wasn't really tested for it or anything. What I'm trying to say is that I have a problem with the way my roommate acts, and I think that he acts this way *not* because of aspbergers, but because he never really left the house, and thus he doesn't have social skills.
The reason we thought he has aspbergers is because when he's in a conversation with us, he likes to talk about one single topic, and he'll want to keep jumping back to the one topic, whereas we like talking about a bunch of things. This was annoying when we were watching my friend play windwaker, and he kept talking about the original Zelda, and how it was better, and how this wouldn't happen in the original Zelda, and original Zelda this and that blah blah original Zelda. And he just kept going on and on about the original Zelda. And my friend (the guy who was playing) says that he knows someone with aspbergers that does that same thing (talk about one single topic for long periods of time). Another reason I think he has Aspbergers is because when he starts a game, he usually plays no other game at all until he completely beats the game he was playing, regardless of how good or bad the game is. He downloaded Clock Tower, and did almost *nothing else* in his free time, but get all of the endings and see all of the cutscenes and stuff. Same with Cave Story, did *nothing else* in his free time but play that. Whenever someone else (usually one of my friends) is playing a game he likes (like Zelda or Cave Story), every time he sees them, he'll ask "so how are you doing in *game*", despite not quite catching on to the fact that that's not the only thing they do all day. So basically, he has a tendancy to only be able to do one thing at a time. Like, he'll get ready to take a shower (as in undress, put his robe on, get his shower stuff ready), and as he's walking out, he'll see me playing a game or something, and he'll walk over to me and tower over me, leaning WAY CLOSE to read what's on the screen, etc, and he'll do that until I stop the game and tell him to go shower. ____________________ |
