Ok, so Facebook recently added 'applications'. Basically, it has a library of apps that people make and send, and you can add the apps to your profile. It's just like any other module on your profile (like photos, notes, etc), and it's fully integrated into the system.
Now, I found an app called Audio. Audio uses Facebook's built-in mp3 player, and it's a section in your profile. You upload the song yourself (for now), and you give it the link, and the player will play it. Autostarting is impossible. I like Audio better than the others, because I can upload whatever song I want. So I can make a song, and upload it, and have my own compositions on my profile, as opposed to the other apps which work like MySpace.
Now, some huge douchebag comes into the discussion board and advertises his own audio app, and here's the thread. I've removed everyone's last names.

You must be a personal friend of the developer of audio then, because mine clearly has more functionality. All Audio does is put a simple facebook-created mp3 player in your profile, and the songs have to be URL's that are created by other users.

That is all you need to know to put a song in your profile like audio does... takes a genious, i know.
and mine does have more functionality. mine has an entire music player- a library where you make a playlist and listen to it and save the playlist (multiple if you want).. I'd say thats a bit more functionality then just having the fb:mp3 player in your profile. You're clearly another personal friend of the developer of Audio, and immature if you're going to try and talk crap to another developer.
Ok stop. In order to set the song you want his app to use, you load the page (which takes a LONG time to load), and the page lists ALL of the songs currently uploaded (probably why it takes so long), with a "set song" button next to each one. The font is big too, so it's a big page, both filesize and spatially.
Needless to say, Audio's system is a lot more organized, and looks a lot more professional, the options are categorized into tabs, like the rest of Facebook, you can keep track of all the songs you added (and you can remove songs you added too), songs others have added, etc.

If you want people to get your player, you should probably make more information about it available. Is it based of a pre-existing library or do you upload your own music to it? How do you add music to your player or library? Can you have more than one song on your profile at a time? The only things listed is a screenshot (with a design that doesn't mach the Facebook theme, which is a strike against it already), and a vague idea of what it does "Play Music in facebook."
Your program may very well be better than Audio, but you don't offer any reasons why, or any features at all on the page for your application. Audio is far from perfect, which is why, though I have the application, I don't have it on my profile, because as of right now it still doesn't have all the features I want. But at least I know what it does have to offer, whereas with yours, I don't.
You're on a social networking site where the majority of people don't know you. You can't just say "My app is the greatest! Get it!" You have to show people why.

You're right, I don't give much of a description... but it takes about 5 seconds to add it, and another 5 seconds to delete it. And the short description I do have is really all that is needed, haha. The profile functionality is basically the same as Audio's is, with the change in appearance (you may not like it, but many other people like it better than plane). However, you don't have to give a URL to add your music, you can simply copy a file into the library over ftp server.
Also, like I said previously, I have a music player site with playlist functionality. This is available off of facebook, so if you dont want to spend 5 seconds to add and 5 seconds to remove the app... anyone can use this without needing to use the facebook app....

That's ironic, because I find shilling your own application in the the competition's forum to be a bit immature.
The functionality of your player is fine, but the design (as stated before) is less than desirable. If you want people to use your application rather Numair's, I recommend that you stop being an ass and actually do something pro-active: re-skin your player.

By the way, Chris, I don't really consider Audio to be 'the competition'. I'm not trying to beat out Audio and get more users, or anything of the sort. I could care less... I just thought I'd throw my app out there for people that may like it better... which many appear to. If you like Audio better, by all means keep using Audio... but if you like mine better, than your welcome to use it.

If you don't consider Audio to be the "competition" then don't advertise your application here under the topic name: "My audio app is better ." You're just asking for attention, the very notion that you say your app is better indicates you are using Audio as a basis of comparison to your own app. This, along with the fact that both applications do pretty much the same thing strongly implies that ZMedia and Audio are natural competitors.

I love how he thinks everything is a joke. I mean first, he didn't want to add a screenshot or a description to his app's main page (the page where you decide whether or not you want to add it to your profile), and he's expecting everyone to just be content with adding his app, seeing if they like it, and if not, removing the app, which is something *NONE* of the other app devs do.

What you need is a proper description, links to the actual code and a help guide...
Also... It does look rather... ugly? not all of us want a blood red box in the middle of our facebook... bring out a blue and white version like Audio already is and you may be able to compeate... heck If you can get playlists etc and have 6-7 fully playing songs on your profile then sure I'll use it and tell others to.
I do agree with the less users part... many of FB's apps are crashing/not working due to overloading too quickly...

I'm about to write my own facebook audio app because Audio has some annoying bugs (which I've already posted about on their page). I was looking at all the other audio related apps, and all I have to say is that nobody will use this thing unless you change the skin, and the style of the playlist site you posted. Sure it works, but it looks like trash. Audio fits the facebook style and that's why everyone uses it.
Also, you're kind of a douchebag to everyone that posts here about your app, except the one cute chick that took your side. Criticism doesn't have to be nice to be correct.

Here are a few things I noticed about your program.
1. Your program is ugly.
2. It does everything audio does, so why bother.

Sorry man, but you need to try and make something different instead of just copying the leading music player and advertising it all over the place. Uploading a song on fileden.com is just as easy, if not EASIER than ftp.
