Yeah, I sent him another email.
I think I have the answer this time too. It actually dawned on me a few minutes after I made that previouis post. "Apparently you can read modern hylian, but can you read old hylian" That has two meanings. One meaning is "Apparently you, Drag, can read modern hylian", etc, whereas the other meaning is "Apparently, it's possible to read modern hylian, but can old hylian be read too?" What lead me to this conclusion is that the image doesn't contain any modern hylian. It's all old hylian. The phrase he tells you to translate just has a different mapping to English letters. That and I did some reading about hylian, and got what I found in my previous post. In addition, one of his responses to me was "I'm not sure if you fully understand what is being asked of you." *ASKED* of me? And yeah, you know how subtle his hints can be, I think that was a hint. I think he was trying to hint to me that he wanted me to answer that question. So I did. I'm just waiting for his response now. ____________________ |

Alright, I think I'm damn close to the answer, but the answer I gave him was still missing something.
So it looks like "Zelda freak knows more than he tells" might have nothing to do with step 5's answer after all. He wanted us to answer the question in the image, which was "Apparently [it is possible to] read modern Hylian, but can [old Hylian be read]?" And yeah, modern Hylian is readable, and so is old Hylian. That's pretty much what I told him. He told me that I hit the nail right on the head, about that question, but he says I'm still missing something, and that I need to think the hint (which is "There is more to the image than comes to mind") and apply it to step 5. Edit: The only way I can think of at the moment to link the hint "there is more to the image blah blah" to the image is by indicating that the image contains more info than you actually need. Anyway, I sent another email with this addendum. ____________________ |

STEP 6 GET!
Edit: Unfortunately, it's been requested that I remove this step. Edit: But fortunately enough, due to popular demand, I am able to repost this step. Here it is: 5834 01430 5834 78510 Yes, it's a bunch of numbers, no he didn't give me anything else. ____________________ |

That's all he gave me. And a "You are now on step 6!". That's it. ____________________ |

I said I was going to share the rom with everyone.
And besides, it'd eventually wind up everywhere anyway, even if it was only distributed amongst here. ____________________ |

I dunno if I should just freely give that out. I mean, unless I'm wrong, step 6 is the last step. I don't know how we came to that conclusion, but it makes sense.
Either way, rest assured, "Zelda freak knows more than he tells" has *NOTHING* to do with the answer. ____________________ |

I remember this one time, in one of my dreams, I was falling, or sliding down a pole. Probably one in one dream and the other in a different dream, but I was falling so fast, it felt like my body was going to split in half. It was weird. ____________________ |

I made a thread about this on the previous board, but then the previous board went kaplooie, so here it is again.
Super Balloon Fight Physics Mario Patch this to a clean (or a level edited) PRG0 SMB rom, and have a blast. This is an asm hack of SMB to alter Mario's physics to be more like the physics in Balloon Fight. I probably won't be updating this asm hack any time soon, but I saw a really cool level edit which catered to the physics, and made the game actually fun. And, as a special bonus, this release includes pointlessly animated graphics sure to blow your mind. There isn't really much of a point to this, I just wanted to see if I could do an ASM hack. Apparently, I can do one. ____________________ |

Ok, I'm completely stumped with this. I have no clue what those numbers are supposed to be. There are too many possibilities, since numbers can represent anything. My biggest idea was that it was tones to some kind of a song, but I can't get anything recognizable out of those numbers.
Yeah, a hint or a clue would certainly be helpful. ____________________ |

Wow, words cannot explain how much that hint helps.
So, it translates to words, but we need to figure out how. I'd say the first thing we need to try is just a simple one-to-one cypher, like we have been doing. I get the feeling that 0 could be an s. Edit: 0 might not be an s afterall. I don't really know any words that work well. ____________________ |

I'm wondering why there's no 2 or 6...
9 is understandable. Edit: Also, I think what he means is that the numbers, when translated, are a hint to something else. ____________________ |

I think step 1 was split into two parts.
Step 1: The zip file / extracting the rom. Step 2: The rom itself, discovering it was a fake. Step 3: This page, where you had to enter the url for the next step. Step 4: This page, where you had to email okibi, explaining the quote and the image. Just telling him what they are, pretty much. Step 5: This image Decyphering this image, and answering the question, and explaining how there's "dummy" info in the image that was useless. Step 6: 5834 01430 5834 78510 -> five steps five hints That is each step so far. As for hints, they've all been publically given. I haven't exclusively received any hints. ____________________ |

I just got a confirmation from okibi, we did manage to correctly decypher the numbers, but that's not all we need to do. The translated numbers are a clue as to the answer he wants. ____________________ |

I basically sent him a response that summed up all of the steps, but he says it doesn't solve anything. I'm not entirely sure what next...
I don't know if he's referring to the hints he gave us, or the hints each step already contains. Or perhaps the steps and hints he's referring to aren't the ones from the contest? ____________________ |

More often than not, someone's mental image of an online user will be much different than what they actually look like. That's because you only have the personality as a reference. It's interesting to see what personality traits equate to what visual aspect gets created.
In my case, my mental images of people aren't necesarilly always a person. It's usually just an abstract image, but I could form it into a person figure if I wanted to. ____________________ |

So far, every step has had something to do with Zelda.
Step 1 and 2, the rom was a corrupt Zelda rom. Step 3 was about the triforce. Step 4 contained a Zelda 2 quote, and a picture from Minish Cap artwork. Step 5 was about Hylian. Step 6 hasn't been connected to Zelda yet, so I'm thinking that one of the games had you do "5 steps" in order to get/accomplish something. Any ideas? ____________________ |
