Going pretty good, I still have it running. I wish it was a little bit more active, but next month will be 3 years since I've opened NFF. (http://www.nihongofreak.com/board3) I need to update the site and the board more though. NFF will always be around.

Adamant, everyone learns at different levels, so don't feel that you "suck." But it is a good idea to learn the kana first before going to the kanji. Also, if anyone is having problems registering on NFF, please let me know via AIM or Skype (s/n are in my profile) since there's no PM system here yet.

I'm thinking of buying a new computer (since I haven't bought one in about 3 years) with the following specs. You guys think it's a good deal?

Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 (2.00GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB cache, non-HT)
Genuine Windows Vista・Home Premium (32-bit)
1024MB 667MHz Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2-512MB modules)
250GB 7200rpm Serial ATA II/300 hard drive w/ 8MB cache
48x/32x/48x CD-RW/DVD combo drive
Gateway 19" Widescreen High Definition LCD Display
Microsoft Works 8.5
Gateway 5-Bay uATX Case
Intel G965 Chipset
Black Polish
(2) PCI expansion slots, (1) PCI-E x1 expansion slot. (1) PCI-E x16 expansion slot
(6) USB 2.0 (2 front, 4 rear), (2) IEEE 1394 firewire (1 front, 1 rear), audio ports and (2) PS/2
15-in-1 Memory Card Reader
Gateway Elite Keyboard (for Windows Vista)
56K PCI data/fax modem
Systemboard with Intel G965 Chipset & 10/100 network
Soft-touch USB Optical Wheel Mouse
Integrated Intel 10/100 Twisted Pair Ethernet
Windows Vista Home Premium Backup Media (32-bit)
Gateway 2.0 Speakers
nVidia GeForce 7500LE 256MB (512MB shared) G72 NTSC
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3000 with Maximum 384MB Shared Memory (Dynamic Video Memory Technology)

TOTAL PRICE: $848.00 + $99.00 for shipping = $947.00

I prefer having Windows XP on my system but none of the new systems have it. I haven't bought it yet, just thinking about it.

Well, I just wanted something more than my dinosaur computer that I have now, mostly for my studies. I eventually plan on doing some serious video editing with it. Oh yeah, when I have time to do things other than that, about 10% of the time, I will be playing games. I'm just tired of not having enough harddrive space (only 30GB) and running out of memory (128 MB), I think I'm about due.

Desktop #1:
HP Pavilion 963 (don't remember the model number exactly since I'm not using that one much anymore)
1.2GHz Celeron Processor
Windows XP
30 GB Hard drive space
128 MB RAM
I bought this one back in 2001.

Laptop:
HP Model ze4427wm
1.8 GHz AMD Athlon Processor
30 GB Hard Drive space
256 MB RAM
Windows XP
I bought this one back in 2003 or 2004 at a "mistake" price. It came with a 3-in-1 printer and was supposed to be $1,000, but I got it for 1/2 that.

Newly Purchased Desktop #2:
Gateway GT5438
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz
320GB Hard Drive space
2048MB RAM
6 USB Slots
Windows Vista (after using this OS for a whole week now, it has some nice features. However, it's a resource hog. RAM used is almost always sitting between 40 and 50%.)
17" Flat panel HD Display
DVD-R/W & CD-R/W
I bought this one for $900 and came with the monitor and another 3-in-1 printer. It was a good price and so far I haven't had any problems with it. I am so glad that I didn't pay another $200 for the "extra" crap they were going to do to it when I bought it . . .

I'm inclined to agree with Drag here. Recently on G4 I have seen this commercial that advertises a "free" XBox 360. I love when the guy says "no gimmicks" or whatever. I went and checked out that site, and you have to precisely follow a bunch (I mean, a bunch) of different offers and deals. If even one of those offers is done wrong, the whole thing is null and void. There is no such thing as free stuff -- there has to be a catch somewhere. I think the site is www.tvfreexbox.com or something. I'm worried though that by filling out those surveys, you are on a bunch of lists.

I know you don't remember me at all, but I came in late October 2003 during Version 1. I was an active poster then and did get Reinfors and Reinfors+ a couple of times. My posting habits have changed quite a bit since then and I don't really get a chance to post here that much. Good to see you posting again, Reinfors.
