Sorry if bumping old threads aren't allowed, but I'm having a bit of trouble with setting this up. How do I properly configure what enemy group I fight? |

Is it just me, or does this patch not allow you to edit scripts? When I patch it onto my copy and then attempt to edit scripts, I get some kind of error and it won't let me view the script editor. If you need a screenshot of the error, I'll put one up as soon as my bro gets off of the other computer since it's where I'm doing all of my SMRPG hacking.
EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot . I found a better patch at the main author's site so I don't need this topic anymore. |

It's really not that difficult once you mess around with it for awhile. The only things I'm having any real trouble with are the Event and Action script. Battle Scripts however, are easier but I still don't quite understand what those bits and stuff are used for, since I'm not familiar with things like memory addresses ^^; . It's a good thing I've been using RPG Maker for a long time, because it really helped me work with the Battle Script editor. |

I'm not really gonna do some make over hacks yet, since I still need more experience with the event scripts and stuff. I am however, adding some new contents to the game and changed some stuff around, like removing the menu and battle tut in the beginning .
Here's a palette swap of Culex as the sprite for my "DARK MAGE" super boss (The one that Culex mentions): |

Not sure whether if this is a bug or something, but everytime when I try to save my event scripts, the editor tells me I don't have enough space. After deleting 2 useless event scripts (The ones used in the debug room), I was able to save it. However, when I close the script editor and come back later to add like 1 or 2 lines of scripting to the one I was currently working on, I get the error about not having enough space again.
Is this a bug, or does a line or 2 actually take up a lot of space? |

Hm, I see. I'll check the byte size next time then, since I didn't notice the size counter before. I'll post back if the byte size wasn't the problem.
EDIT: Well, I guess it was size issue but there's something else. When I open the script editor, I start off with at least 444 bytes (I even scroll up a few, and it stays 444). However, when I go to like #3113, the size goes all the way down to 33 for some reason, and then it goes back up to 444 when I go back to event 0. Is this normal? |

It's titled as Muscle Patch on giangurgolo's web page, if you're wondering. I don't know if it has the exact same features as the demo patch does, but it seems to be the same thing according to the screenshots for the feature demo patch. |

I'm gonna go a little off topic here, but do you guys know what event script handles Culex? I checked his sprite and it says 2100, but that's for Hinopio. |

Although I may not work on it due to an idea I already have, you should try to develop it yourself, or at least post it here in case someone with free time on their hands is willing to try.
As for Lazy Shell, it's pretty easy to pick up and doesn't really require that much time. It only took me a few days to a week at the most, to become familiarize with the features. However, the mapping system is sort of confusing if you'd been a long time RPG Maker user, like me . |

Hacking Luigi into the game along with Mario will require some serious hacking, seeing as Lazy Shell currently doesn't allow you to set the spell animations for magic, and attack animations for weapons. |

Posted by Arbe Even with docs, you'd still need to know how to use a hex editor and stuff like that (I barely even know how to use them, and I learned it the hard way). Usually, an area specific guide assumes that you at least have a bit of knowledge for the tool you're using, unless it mentions a certain tool for you to use, in which case the steps are sometimes covered in the guide. |
