I can highly suggest reading some HTML tutorials. Note that the post header goes before your post text, directly followed by your signature, so when writing your post layout, I suggest seperating the three parts well. I set it up like you described, but Ctrl+Tab just inserts a \t in my document. The rest works as described though.

Yet the only thing implying making many types of games is the forum's description and your understanding of it. The threads seem to focus specifically on Fraxy, as do the threads in SMRPG and SMW hacking focus on SMRPG and SMW.
On the other hand, a game creation forum would solve a lot of "where do I put this" puzzles: 1) Programming forum -- not all game creation systems require actual programming (for suitable definitions of "programming"). 2) Screenshots of your work -- if it's not romhacking, can you put it in romhacking's screenshots thread? I'd say do both. IPS is a format that encodes the changes between two files so you can turn the original Contra or whatever into a hacked version with different levels and whatnot. When you press Save, I'll bet it writes to the very same file you opened, contra.nes or whatever it was called (or not at all if it's not level 1, Trax fill me in here if I'm wrong).
