A) Why is it a PNG? It would've worked so much better as a JPG, especially for an in-thread image (inline linking of 1.5MB images is kind of dumb)

One room at our school, we call the Sunnezimmer, you could translate it as the sunny room or sunroom or something like that.

That's because it has two window fronts.


And most of the time, I refer to any kind of device as a machine, a mach8ine that plays Wii games, or my machine at home with internet and stuff like that.

VL_Tone made an experimental Metroid Music Editor back in the golden days.
Maybe the music system is somewhat the same between these two games?


As much as I know, Metroid and Kid Icarus use the same Game and Sound Engine, or are based of the same work, aren't they?

I don't know where I posted this, but I think the encryption for the VC-Games and oder Channels is done like it is if you download software directly to your cell phone.

Second; I downloaded many VC-Games, if someone want's my Channels, no prob, but beware, my Private Folder is 256 MB.

I also witnessed, if I purchase or download a Channel not in my Wii Memory, it states that an X amount of Blocks will be free after Download. But after the Download, my Wii reports a Y amount of Blocks free, where Y > X.

I think each game has it's own emulator, but those may be shared between games which need the same emulator.

Also, let's not forget that each title comes with it's own instruction manual.

Nice work there!

I think Acmlm had a good Idea on the first page (standard ppp).

I too, love the Dire Dire Docks NES Rendition. Other Mario 64 Tunes would be nice, or New Super Mario Bros.

Else, I can't say much, but will the Statusbar change visually? Like DD did?

I think you missunderstood something there.

The VC-Data is the data, you copied to it, it's not always the save data, if yoou copy the channels, you only copy the channel, and not the save data.

The save data can be copied, but not the save states.

Makes sense to me. My mistake. But, I was on the right track. Still, all those "games" floating around out there on the internet are only game saves and nothing else. Useless data, until someone (never) cracks Nintendo's encryption.


Why do you think it is this way? When I save the Channel to my SD card, it copies the game data to the SD card, and not the save data.

Or how would you explain that my game is back in the Wii menue after copying to SD card, erasing in the Wii Memory and then copying back?

Or did I missunderstand something.

And I don't know how complete The Kin's Archive is, as it's not online anymore, I uploaded my collected DJBouche SPCs

And Mattrizzle87, use the tune for the Forrest of Illusion stile of levels, and compose a new Star/Sky tune. I think it fits the other mysterious stuff better.

Apart from that, there aren't many of his SPCs that I think would suit SMW, but I'd at least recommend:

  • SMK: Mario Circuit
  • SMK: Rainbow Road
  • Goldeneye: Facility

I should note that the SMK SPCs that Bouche made are unfinished as well; he just directly ported them, resulting in screwed-up instruments. That is why "test" is in all of the filenames. However, I've already made decent-sounding ports of Rainbow Road and Battle Mode(which could both still use some tweaking).

And... Goldeneye 007 music in SMW? *rofl*

@ Ice Man: The only one I'd be able to add in is the SML2 map music(I most likely will add it, as I want a wide array of options for map music). The YI Bowser Battle and Star tunes are classified as level music, which I only have one remaining spot for(I want to use either a beach, castle, or sky tune), and the SMRPG ending music is unfinished.


Facility as a castle tune, now I have to start SMW in a castle and let Bouches SPC play....

I don't know if anyone of you ever heard of this hack, but it's great (and hard).

Think Super Mario Bros. meets Metroid, incl. new moves and music.

Here's a YouTube Video demonstrating it's game play.

And the patch is found at the SMB archives, in the Lab Files section (see sidebar) choose download # 162.

Patch it to a SMB ROM, also included is a complete manual with map, obviously complete in Japanese
