At a few places, I've changed my password to gibberish and logged out so I wasn't tempted to return. But yeah, I tend to forget passwords for sites that log me in automatically. I actually have automatic login disabled for Gmail and AIM so I don't forget those passwords and have to get a new username (happened to me a few times). |

My middle and high school used to make up every snow day beyond the second. In the 1998-1999 school year, we were in school for a large part of June because we had well over a week of snow days plus a cancellation due to a bomb threat that year. Then, for one of my last years there, they changed everything from days to hours, and the yearly allowance of hours was well over two days' worth.
I was kinda pissed off in 2003 though, as we had a very rough, cold, long winter but very few cancellations. Just one day in March (which happened to be my first Acmlmversary) from snow, and two days in April from ice storms. |

I agree, Compaqs are evil. Every single one I've ever used had numerous problems. And they design their cases so it's nearly impossible to upgrade them. I tried replacing the hard drive in my old Compaq, and I couldn't even get the old one out. The front part of the case wouldn't come off and it was blocking two of the screws. |

Why are you going to die early? And do you mean early as in at 65 instead of 75, or early as in you could keel over next week? |

I do that too sometimes when (a) I have nothing better to do, or (b) I have a lot of things I should be doing but I'm putting them off as long as possible, such as packing for my upcoming move or working on the essay that's due Monday that I haven't even picked the topic for yet. |

During some back-and-forth PM exchanges, if one or the other person doesn't manually edit the title, there can be a ridiculous amount of unnecessary "Re:"s added to the beginning. Can you make it so that it doesn't append "Re:" to the beginning of a title that already starts with "Re:", so that only one of them ever shows up? |

Yeah, my classes decided to pile on a total of 4 essays in the month of April. In one class, the only essays we do all semester are both due this month, and I have no clue what he expects or how he grades essays, the only stuff we've done in that class so far is one in-class writing assignment and some vocabulary tests. (Yes, vocabulary tests. At university.)
Kernal's Essay-Writing Schedule, Spring 2007 Semester: January: 0 February: 1 March: 0 April: 4 May: 0 Sheesh, couldn't they have spaced them out better? |

1683. The fact that the domain name portion of the URL has the hierarchy in the reverse order than the folder/file portion. In particular, if you're typing a recently accessed URL into the location bar of Firefox, for it to find possible complete URLs starting with those letters you need to remember the subdomain name, which can be tricky because of the presence or lack of "www" and the fact that many boards (for instance) are on board.whatever.com, forums.whatever.com, etc. and you may only remember the "whatever.com" portion of the name. |

You've obviously never used 98 then. That would bluescreen if you breathed on it too hard. |

But where does the Lunar come from? Lunar Magic? An interest in the moon? A random adjective you picked out of a dictionary?
Kernal is part of the OS used in the 8-bit Commodore computers, such as the Commodore 64. I picked it because I still like old computers, and it's short, pronounceable, and contains only letters of the English alphabet capitalized normally. (Yes, Commodore called it Kernal, not Kernel.) Of course, nowadays everyone and their dog has a name beginning with K, so some people probably confuse my username with others. |

I don't have cable or satellite. I saw Myth Busters, which I thought was pretty cool, but I only saw it once. Haven't seen Brainiac. |

Madman200, if you don't like your username, you can try asking an admin (Acmlm, Xkeeper, or Ranko) for a name change. That's what I did when I registered as "Eyeball Eaters" but wanted to use my usual alias, Kernal. |

Uh, because we did receive BSOD's?
I very rarely got them in XP, in fact, I can't even remember one BSOD in XP. Maybe theclaw's system setup included a program that would frequently bluescreen. With 98, I got them at least once a day sometimes. |

Yeah, one of my old usernames (Banedon) was used by several other people on the Internet, plus there was a Brandon at two of the boards I went to at the time (Acmlm's and PureZC; I think he has an account here).
Googling Kernal, I find some sites referring to the Commodore OS, a lot of misspellings of kernel ("Linux kernal", etc), and a...peanut company? |

Posted by HyperHacker Yeah, now all we need is the googolplexth "How do you pronounce Acmlm?" thread. I always thought "Origin of username" and "Pronunciation of Acmlm" should have been profile fields. |

I've always said "Ack-mulm", by the way. My mom used to add a lot of syllables to it as in "Ackmellackem", but now she usually says "Acklum".
My username is pronounced the same way as the word kernel (or colonel). Whatever that is in your particular dialect. |

I've had problems like that due to insomnia. One night I didn't get to sleep until almost 06:00, and the next day my mom was going to arrive in the morning to pick me up to go somewhere. I woke up just before she arrived and was a zombie all day. |

I think MD5ing something twice tends to increase the risk of collision (two passwords with the same hash) because MD5 hashes always have the same characteristics (always 32 characters including 0-9 and a-f). |
