What settings for posts and threads per page do you use and why?
Ever since I first registered at Acmlm's I have used 50 posts per page on all Acmlmboards. I hate having to click and flip through pages a lot when reading a long thread. Especially since my experience is that loading 5 smaller pages takes MUCH longer than 2 larger pages of the same total size. Now I keep a setting of 50 because I'm used to it. Another advantage is that most of the time, I can see more of the conversation prior to the last post. My threads per page setting is 100, but for no good reason. Sometimes I do like reading old posts and threads and like to see more per page. |

Posted by Darckthunder Um, any reason why? 32. It drives me absolutely bonkers when people forget the umlaut in über.. If you can't type an umlaut or are too lazy, at least use the substitutuon "ue" for the ü. 33. Anti-intellectualism. 34. Elementary school-style teasing of strangers. |

And for the sake of completeness, the first board archive is here. |

Posted by Trapster Yeah, looking at my old posts is embarrassing. And my signatures were even worse. I had a lame Proboard advertised in my sig forever. |

Yep, I get the same thing. I can access forums by typing in forum.php?id=whatever into the URL, but there are no page links and the forum names are not shown. |

Posted by Acmlm I have a question...if you used 50, why was the default set up as 20? |

46. People who are intolerant of other people's lifestyles.
47. In-class writing exams where I have to write a whole essay in less than an hour without even having any clue on the topic beforehand. |

I was looking at the second archive, apparently I would take just about any opportunity to make a post, most of which were about six words and restating something someone else already said. OK, I probably still do that... |

I think it happens if you try to make a thread soon after making any other post, even a reply. |

49. Microsoft's near-total dominance of the OS industry.
50. American capitalism. 51. Really lame euphemisms for sex, especially in songs. If you're having sex, just say that you're having sex already! Sheesh! |

54. Teenagers who pretend to listen to ANY particular type of music (metal, punk, rap, etc.) just so people will think they're cool. (If you actually like (say) Linkin Park and enjoy it, that's fine. But if you wear Linkin Park shirts everywhere just because you don't want people to know you really like Britney Spears, that's not.) |

I've seen boards that are even worse...one board I went to would trap EDITS with the flood control! I couldn't go back to fix a typo right after I submitted a post! |

Definitely. It's not flooding when you take several minutes to write several paragraphs even if you clicked "New Thread" really soon after your last post. |

Try resizing in the HTML tags, as in < img src="whatever" width="500" > or something. |
