The revolutions aren't new. My first board was TMK Fungi Forums, and in mid-2002 some disgruntled TMKers formed a new board, TUNMB. There was a lot of friction between the two boards for a while. Now, however, TUNMB is almost dead and TMK is REALLY screwed up...

My experience is that having multiple firewalls activated at the same time can make the system unstable.

Yeah, the image cache tends to hold on to "old" avatars too long...now I see the fish. LOL.

My feet get cold in the winter much sooner than any other part of my body, so I usually wear socks then, but in summer I'm generally sockless. I go without shoes indoors year-round, even at school sometimes. Especially when I wear my winter boots to school as they're extremely uncomfortable to sit around in.

Do you really think we have anyone here older than 106?

In my experience, anyone over about 60 who is introduced to computers stubbornly refuses to use them.

Is it true that some people have received radio signals through their braces and/or fillings, causing them to hear music/talk in their heads? Or is that impossible?

The worst part for me is when I either forget kleenex or it falls out of my pocket (happened a few times), then according to Murphy's Law I come into school that morning and experience a Killer Sneeze of Death. I've been known to steal kleenex from the library etc.

Flip-flops with socks? Wow.

I've worn sandals with socks back in middle school, because the school policy was that you always needed to wear socks even with sandals. (You also coudn't wear shorts until May, even if it was sweltering in April.)

Yeah, well a lot of people put humourous things in their profile, especially the location field. I think Acmlm once put a fraction into a year field so his age would be 3.14 (an approximation of pi). Of course, the next year it would become 4.14, and why would a year field be floating point anyway?

800. Any music from the early 20th century (Frank Sinatra, etc.) and their modern imitators (Christina Aguilera). I like some 60's through 90's music though.

Linux is less of a target and is somewhat more secure than Windows, so anti-virus software usually isn't needed. Of course, installing anything on Linux (with a few exceptions such as Firefox) is a royal pain...

I always found power-saving modes annoying, especially the ones on laptops that kick in when you put the lid down. I'm often on my laptop at work and I close the lid of someone talks to me so that they focus on the conversation and not the laptop, and then I get kicked off AIM and have to re-log into the network, etc.

I miss the days of actual hard power switches and reset buttons. Not these finicky software things that just tell the OS to shut down, which don't work when the OS won't shut down!

The fact that the same URL is used for your avatar all the time causes old avatars to be displayed long after they're changed in some browsers. Not sure how to rectify this, maybe add an additional parameter like http://acmlm.no-ip.org/board/gfx/userpic.php?id=133& image=2 or something, updating the image number with each avatar change and storing the current number in the profile.

Those things are fun, I like idly fiddling with things with my hands for some reason. Of course, I end up twisting it into itself a lot and spend forever unraveling it.

You can dual-boot, i.e., have Windows and Linux on the same machine, if you can get your hands on a Partition Magic-type program.

And nobody likes Vista. Except my dad, he's crazy for anything Microsoft.
