Being in class is often one of the more important things, especially in courses such as language, where a lot of material can only be done in class.

Which means that people who miss a lot of class are already missing enough material to negatively impact their grade in the class a great deal, so why should they be penalized even more?

But wouldn't that break some old posts on this board?

482. People posting with the reply number without mentioning an ONO.

483. Snow covering the ground forcing me to leave a half-hour earlier to catch the bus instead of riding my bike.

An IQ test only measures the ability to pass an IQ test. Yep, it's a circular definition.

485. SamuraiX not realizing that this is the ONO thread, not "try to come up with something weird or mathematical about the number of the post or item". (We had that in brain teasers as "Kattwah counting thread", which was closed.)

486. Spring break is over today...

Hey, I should have been in class right now. The teacher was 15 minutes late though, which (at least here) means that you can go.

Last summer, one teacher was late by about 45 minutes because her watch stopped.

Yay, SamuraiX makes a proper post.

It doesn't, but it sure seems that way for grand prize judging. One guys had some title so complex I swear the smallest word was "lattice." Good god there were complex projects.

*imagines a project called "Antidisestablishmentarianists Floccinaucinihilipilificating Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis"* (i.e., people opposed to the separation of church and state thinking of a form of black lung disease as worthless)

I had what I thought was a dumb project for high school, "Are grades affected by watching too much TV?" The worst part was a huge outlier that totally screwed up the correlation for the senior class that I somehow didn't notice or remove. Seriously, the correlations were something like:
Freshman 0.012
Sophomore 0.008
Junior 0.009
Senior 0.462

Only 6 people came to my presentation, so I doubt the renegade ever saw the data, but I bet he'd have been laughing his ass off.

And my room looks like a Dumpster, with books and magazines all over the floor, half-eaten bags and boxes of various foodstuffs scattered around my computer, a computer with no case on the floor, blankets draped over everything, dirty clothes everywhere, etc.

Wow, I never knew that about what's faster than what. When I started using PHP I just loved the novelty factor of embedding a variable in a string so much that I used it everywhere. I always use echo instead of print though, I guess I just like it better. In my opinion, only commands that send output to an actual printer should be named "print". Is it faster because it's one letter shorter? That made a big difference on some early interpreters, although I suspect any modern PHP server wouldn't be bogged down too much by having to read one extra letter.

7 is a house number? Around here, they're all like 28526 and such. Detroit is weird like that though. You'll have like 50 addresses skipped between each house instead of 2.

My birthday is 1987-07-19, which is three prime numbers.

500. OMG FIVE HUNDREDTH ITEM. Finding out that the only container of a particular food item expired in 2005, then going to the store to get more and realizing that I forgot my wallet.

=== only returns true if two things are the same type, right? So (1 == '1') is true but (1 === '1') is false. So it's probably faster because it doesn't have to do any type conversion.

506. When I can't figure out what two numbers were missed and why are they missed so much?

sirhax0r's post originally had 505 and 506 but he edited it.

Whatever number we're up to. Winter weather in spring, such as the two April ice storms I had in 2003.

512 (29). Near-total lack of support for Linux by companies because apparently if something isn't made for profit, it doesn't exist.

Yeah, not like she did on the first board making jillions of posts a day. I remember her going from 2000 to like 7000 in only a couple months...
