People calling me by my real name online sounds really weird to me, and I tend to assume they're talking about someone else. |

You know, I thought this thread would have something to do with Pac-Man.
I never saw any Acmlmers in real life, nor have I though I saw them. I don't think there are too many in Michigan. (Don't go here. There's no economy, and even the cities are full of rampaging bands of vicious rednecks.) |

At least it's not autocorrect which is ten times worse. "No, you idiot computer! I really did mean 'teh'!"
The OO.O spreadsheet's autocomplete is really annoying as well. I have a series of spreadsheets in which one column has the heading "2W" and I often have to put a 2 into that column, which the damn program changes into a 2W. |

You don't use them at all? Most people at least use a word processor, for school if nothing else...
And I would disable it if I could find the damn option to disable it! I thought I found it, but it didn't work, it was probably the option to turn off teh->the. And renaming the column wouldn't work either...it needs to be narrow so I can't spell it out, and TW (T = Two) won't work as there's already a TW column. Whoa, 666th post? Bwahahhahahahhahahhaha! *takes over the world* |

Maybe schools in Nevada don't care, but in Michigan everything has to be double-spaced, one-inch margins, Times New Roman size 12, and so on. Everything. I don't think WordPad can double-space, but I haven't used it in a while. Maybe the newer versions can. |

I have mine, but they seem to be only partially grown in. I see no point in removing them. Is it to prevent infection? |

Katelyn knows my name, and I think I posted it once at a previous incarnation.
Peh, it's Anthony. The A, first N, and H are NOT optional. |

Some teachers here don't care, but some will take off lots of points if it's not formatted properly (and a few will even give you a zero). A few years ago, if I knew the teacher didn't care I would write things on my Commodore 128 and its dot-matrix printer for a while. |

If he really had pride in his ethnicity, he would know how to spell it. "Asian" doesn't have a Z.

Most of my "spring" breaks involve snow and cold. They're so early and winter runs so late. |

Maybe "Xkeeper" falls into the "feels right" category? Probably more people think of you as Xkeeper than Alex. Tarale used to have her first name in her username, and YD made a huge deal about her real name at some point as I recall. |

I was 17 in 2004 and 2005, the two worst years of my life.
I'm not sure if this is true, but supposedly your percieved life (assuming a normal lifespan of 70-ish) is half over before you're 10 years old. Now that's scary. I've experienced the time speedup phenomenon, and most people I talk to have also. I remember a time when a month seemed like a year, and a summer was eternity. Now, 2004 feels like last week. |

An Acmlm expo would be cool, but I guess it'd be tough to find a time when people are off school/work and a place where not everyone has to go a long distance. I know some other boards have done it though. |

I hate the "valid" HTML obsession as well. Once upon a time, <br> was perfectly OK, and now they've decided that you need a useless slash. The worst part is when they remove really useful tage like <font> and <s> in favour of using CSS for everything. CSS should be used to dictate the overall look of a site, but for changing the font of one line of text in a large website, or using strikethrough for a few words, or in message board posts or other situations where many users add to the same page, nothing beats the old-style tags. And if you want to use nothing but old-style HTML with no CSS, there should be nothing stopping you. |

Posted by Higsby There's also a Hell in Michigan. Of course, you could argue that the whole state is hell. |
