But you only have to change it once (per computer). I guess I just don't mind setting the time manually, as I usually set the rest of the clocks the previous evening anyway. |

I believe this board is all new code and the other one is a derivative of the original code. Not sure though. |

344. People who come into the university tutoring department and have no brains whatsoever. You know, the type who can't even add zero to a number or multiply by one, yet the moronic academic advisors put them into calculus. |

Posted by SamuraiX Katelyn is now in the 3rd, and she hadn't posted when I made my post. I somehow missed misterj's post though. II | I --+-- III|IV |

I believe both Democrats and Republicans are actually pretty far right (Republicans moreso than Democrats).
Someone should plot all the Acmlmers on a Cartesian grid similar to the one on the political compass site. |

I hate where my parents live, it's way out in the country surrounded by trailer parks and rednecks, so I refer to my apartment in the city...err...generic 'burbs as "home". |

Daily cycle might be nice (nothing wrong with a little old-schoolness), but I recommend you do not make it the default because of the other board. |

Posted by blackhole89 I guess I just assumed the other board used some old code because it looks almost exactly like the original, whereas this one, while maintaining the same feel, has several differences. |

I don't like how several options were removed from the preferences box (remaining as hidden settings) in Firefox 2.x. Such as the one where you ca choose to open "new window" links in the same tab, as I hate links that open new windows/tabs. |

Well, they're further left than Republicans, but wouldn't they still be above zero? The USA is a very right-wing country. |

Generally in the USA an exam is any major test in a class, and there is usually one at the end of the semester or year (the final) and others in between at relatively regularly-spaced intervals (midterms or just exams or tests). A test is usually smaller or less important than an exam, and a quiz is even shorter and usually just one page and you aren't given the full class period to work on it because it's short.
I should try sleeping pills or something. I'm really sick of going to bed and it taking 6 hours to get to sleep, then feeling like a zombie the next day. |

There are placement tests, which the university completely ignores. They try to throw everyone into Calculus 1 their first semester regardless of prior math education (or lack thereof).
346. Links which open a new window unnecessarily. At least I can turn that off, but I still have to deal with the issue when using public computers or someone else's machine. |

In the world of the Internet, there are several ways you can refer to a particular person, including their real name, screen name, AIM or other messenger name, etc. How do you generally refer to people online?
I almost always call people by their full, unabbreviated screen name, but I will sometimes adopt common abbreviations (like Xk for Xkeeper) in real-time discussions. I always preserve the original capitalization even at the beginning of a sentence. (E.g., if I were to start a sentence with (say) blackhole89's username, the b would still be lowercase). I also call Katelyn by her first name for some reason...probably because a while back, she would change usernames every week. I don't call anyone else by their first name unless it is also their username. On AIM, if it's someone I know from a board I will usually use their board name rather than their AIM name, probably because AIM names tend to be long and I associate most people more by their board name. I haven't seen too many people get my username wrong, although I'd expect to see a few "Kernel"s because that is the usual spelling of the word. My old usernames, people always got wrong. Most people understood that Banedon started with B and contained at least one N and possibly a D, and some people also knew that the second letter was A, but that was all I could count on. So I'd get Bandeon A LOT, Banadon, Badenon, Brandon (a common first name in the USA), Banedone, and some people thought it was hilarious to call me by a variation of "banned". comm128 looked really dumb as Comm128 or just comm, so of course people would call me those things to annoy me. |

Uh, besides the fact that (a) the political compass site uses a Cartesian grid, and (b) the values given are best represented as x and y values rather than r and theta.
(Let me guess...SamuraiX's math class recently did something with polar coordinates?) |

Italian, Spanish, Polish, German, probably some others as well. I have the most Italian-sounding last name you can think of though. |

Layouts aren't really needed...they load really slowly on dialup (yes, some people still have dialup. I have cable at my apartment, but when I visit my parents I'm stuck with dialup.), they tend to distract from the post content (especially when there is a scroll bar or the post text uses only a small area of the table cell), peop0le tend to use tiny fonts, and not everyone has the artistic talent necessary to make a decent layout.
We should have signatures like every other board system in existence. |

Posted by Kasdarack This has always mystified me as well. How can you constantly misspell a name that's staring you in the eyeballs? |
