141. Parents naming their daughters really masculine-sounding stuff like Madison or Hunter, especially if it's spelled wrong.

It's not quite as bad when I set my screen resolution to 320x200 ... I guess going that low is actually useful for one thing

And what OS allows you to set your resolution below 640*480?

Large images that are scaled down a lot tend to look really bad...

Haven't played it, but I vastly prefer both Doki Doki Panic and SMB2J over the American/European "SMB2".

Sdrawkcab ti daer.

My name probably makes people think "OMG KERNEL SHOOD HAV AN E NOT AN A U DUMBASS". However, the OS Core on the Commodore 64 and related computers really is called Kernal with an a, which is where I got my usernmae.

...he never grasped the fat that Tomguy is...

This really stood out to me.

It's this thing called a typo.

One of the most memorable lamers was called "Fuck you" and his (her? its? their?) thread actually accumulated quite a few replies before it was trashed.

At TMK in 2002 there was a guy who made like 100 threads about Mario and pooping late at night. One thing about 2002-era TMK is it had only one staff member (the owner) who posted about once a month, so there were basically no rules.

Do you get a lot of people calling you but they wanted someone else?

Apparently my phone number used to be the number for for Blue Care Network (some kind of medical insurance thing), so I get a lot of calls from people who are trying to call Blue Care Network. The funny thing is that I moved to this apartment and got this number in May 2006...you'd think people would know their new number after almost a year now!

A couple days ago, I got 4 calls in a two-hour timespan asking for a "Lynn". What, did Lynn post my phone number on the Internet or something?

Usually with a telemarketer, I say something really offbeat such as "I have poop in my butt" and then immediately hang up. Of course, most of them sound like recordings anyway...

Katelyn, how high did you get at DS? I thought I saw you above 4000 there...

My highest was...I wanna say 6273. A lot of those were in word association type threads though. I used to love word associations but now they bore me to tears after a while, just the same old crap repeated a kabajillion times.

Although one fun postcount++ thread was "3 1/2 word story". It's like 3 word story, 5 word story, etc. but you post three words and then half a word and the next person completes the half word and posts three more words, ad infinitum. It was fun seeing how someone can twist a word. One post I remember ended with "eating birthday ca-" and you would expect it to be completed "ke", right? Well, someone put in "ndles".

Except SMB1, of course.

Speaking of SMB1, I always wanted to know why having more than 3 objects occupying the same vertical space caused a whole bunch more objects in the vicinity to disappear.

Yeah, I covered L'Hostpital's rule.
Really, how bad is learning series stuffs, timewise?
My BC teacher absolutely hated it when we put an "s" in "L'Hopital".

Did he also insist on a circumflex on the o?

I tend to go into a flying rage when people forget the umlaut in über.

I know that seeing descriptions of other people's mental oddities makes me feel better than although I may be insane, I'm not that unusual.

As for physical injuries, I never had blood spraying out of me like in a goth fetish video or anything. But once I did fall off a swing and hit my head and I had amnesia for a bit.

I use ZoneAlarm for my firewall and it allows you to remember "allow" and "deny" settings. I disabled the error reporting by telling ZoneAlarm to block dwwin.exe.

It's annoying when an alert pops up in the middle of a game though.

What are some typos that you just can't seem to escape from?

For me, I'm always typing "than" when I mean "that" and vice-versa. More of my typos seem to be brain farts than slips of the fingers. A lot of them involve N and T for some reason.

As for finger slips, my most common ones are u/i, i/o, and s/d. I've typed "ass" instead of "add" before. Also double capitals because the shift keys on this keyboard suck.

I wonder what would happen if I started to play along with the most common wrong numbers and answer the phone with "Blue Care Network, how may I help you?" Then when they ask about insurance plans or whatever I just tell them it'll cost a jillion dollars.
