*speculates randomly* Maybe Xkeeper got banned from Wikipedia somehow? Or he disagrees with something like an article deletion?

Yeah, we also need to get some more members to register, we're down to like 2 registrations a day now.

NOTE: By this, I do NOT mean you should drag people in from ||board! That would be Bad NewsTM and would defeat the purpose of the board split in the first place.

I spreed several times on the first board but only twice on the second (and got yelled at both times).

I did a research project in high school and used an encyclopedia as a source, but it was only one of eight sources and I had a lot more citations from each of the magazine and newspaper articles than the encyclopedia. Of course, it was a high-school project to show us how to do research, so we needed X sources of Y different types.

I've only played the SimCities. I think Simcity 2000 was the best game but Simcity 4 was the best simulation. SimCity 4 isn't really a game in the traditional sense as it has little challenge and no goals, it's really a program to create simulated cities. 3000 was kinda lousy as it was mostly just a graphical overhaul of 2000 with a very few new features like the landfills and incinerators.

I played a version of Simcity for the Commodore 64 once...don't know if it was an original or very early version, or a later version based on the PC game though. There were no building graphics at all, just solid squares for RCI buildings and larger squares with an icon for power plants and such. No transportation except roads, no police or fire, I think there was an airport though.

I find this board to be fun too. I might be posting a bit too much though...

It's "Relive the fun posting experience", not "Relive the experience of not posting because you're afraid of posting too much".

97. For some reason, acronyms in which every letter is capitalized except one (like MySQL) tend to bug me a lot. When I type them I tend to make the one lowercase letter uppercase as well (MYSQL).

It's not necessarly for porogramming, although most of the threads in there right now are about programming. It's also for computer help and general cmputer discussion like "What was the first computer you ever owned" or "Preferred web browser" types of threads. Like a combination of the old Programming and Hardware/Siftware forums.

Yeah, who needs the outdoors? There's no Internet outdoors!

Actually, I try to walk places to get exercise...which is sometimes hard with this cold and snow and wind.

Why is the TI calculator language called Basic? As far as I know it isn't any relation to the various Basic languages by Microsoft and has many significant syntactical differences (such as assignment statements being 5 -> X instead of X = 5).

Of coure, an easier way to adjust speed would be nice...a lot of games run too slowly, but some (such as Kroz) go blindingly fast and I have to keep editing dosbox.conf depending on what game I'm trying to play.

i hate when older games would base the game speed on the CPU speed!

But it still written in a way we would consider archaic, using vocabulary that is no longer in common use in English. (thee, thou...) Also, word order tends to receive the boot and unnecessary words are added or important ones removed to comply with iambic pentameter.

I think Sudoku and Kakuro are also like a drug. They're addictive, and can be harmful.

And certain videogames, such as Civilization. My dad has been a Civ addict for 13 years now.
