Posted by Imajin I don't see why ROM hackers can't visit both forums. However, even though it's only been like less than a day, I don't hold out much hope for the "old" forum if it's got guys like mortalkenshi posting there. |

Posted by Imajin The official windows build of X-Chat you have to pay for. However, there are unofficial builds (posted earlier in this thread) that are free. |

This is about the 52.7231th time I've restarted Quarry:
This time in .Net, with a mixture of C# and VB.net (primarily to see if I could get it working at a decent speed). I'll probably never finish this, due to my laziness. |

Well from most reports, pre-orders are going quite well in europe.
However, many of the games shops around here still have their "PS3 Pre-Order Now Limited Stock" signs up from about two weeks ago, so it's hard to know whether that's accurate. One of them even took the (slightly desperate) step of blocking off half their entrance with a manned table display about pre-ordering a PS3. That's something that I've never really seen before over here. Personally, I wouldn't pay the 425 pounds (or 835 dollars!) for a console with no games. Especially considering the fact that I could get an Xbox 360 with Viva Pinata, Gears of War, and Crackdown for 300. Plus, the whole "remove the PS2 chips to make things cheaper, but don't pass on the savings to the customer" thing really annoys me. |

Posted by Gywall If you have any spare, I wouldn't mind any (or all) of them. I couldn't care less about natures or IVs (too in-depth for my liking). |

Posted by AlexAR Whether you get Latios, or Latias in emerald is determined when you beat the elite four for the first time, and you go back to your house. You have to watch a tv, and your mother will ask you what colour the pokemon on the tv was. Depending on your answer (of red or blue), you get latios or latias. On my emerald game I have all the 3rd gen starters, but I haven't completed diamond yet. I might even be able to get you latios, as my brother has this game too, and I made sure to pick the colour at the end that he didn't pick. Edit - Okay, I have latios, treeko, and mudkip ready for trade for Totodile, Cyndaquil, and Chikorita. My friend code is 2835 6873 3675. |

That screenshot is pretty awful looking. The actual game running looks 10x better than that. I think the converting to JPG doesn't do the game justice at all.
It's a fantastic game, even though I suck at it. It's well structured, and surprisingly easy to get into. (No stupid license tests like in Gran Turismo) You simply win races, and the credits level up you, and your car, which unlocks new tournaments and cars to buy. The only complaint I have is that some of the races are very long (6-7 laps and such are the norm in the higher championships), and I tend to crash off on the last few laps because the length of the race bores me. Plus, the online features are fantastic. Almost makes me want to spend the forty quid to get an xbox live gold account. |

Not so much of a price drop, but a 'get rid of our old stock' sale:

I primarily use a renault clio sport, that I souped up from virtually the start of the game.
Beyond that, I'm at the point in the game where you need certain cars to enter certain events, so I don't really use that many cars repeatedly. |

Except for when it comes to, you know, ROM hacking stuff. |

The reason that Rock and Roll only displays one screen at a time, is basically sheer laziness/stupidity when I originally wrote it. I do have a somewhat working version of Rock and Roll with the ability to view as many screens as you want, but it's unlikely to ever be released, because I don't develop in Delphi any more. Plus, it was a humongus effort to implement it, lots of things needed changed, new optimised drawing routines needed written, boring stuff.
So yeah, it's totally possible to display more than one screen in an editor. Just not easy to bolt it onto an editor that only displays the one. |

What is with this "i'm only a mapper" crap? The "i can't do that kind of thing" attitude doesn't help you get any better at ROM hacking. |

A few things. From the other levels, it looks like in the room order editor, you need to have the checkpoint activate and checkpoint respawn on the same room.
Your enemy checkpoints also aren't set correctly (in advanced enemy management), but you haven't mentioned that. Those were a real pain in the ass to set up as I recall. It looks like your scroll isn't correctly aligned with the room order checkpoint values (which may be causing the weird effect of seeing a different room than the one you're on). My advice would be to look at existing scroll settings/room order settings in other levels, work out from those how to correctly set the scroll points. |

The mapper (MM3?) doesn't support that many pages of VROM. Hell, the original hardware probably didn't have anywhere near that many pages of VROM. |

If that doesn't work, open Rock and Roll, and in Windows Explorer drag the ROM file onto the Rock and Roll window. You can then use the 'recent' menu to access the same ROM, when you close the program down and reopen it.
Or, alternatively, drag the ROM file onto the application's icon in Windows Explorer. |

The Mono Migration Analyzer generally can tell you if your application is going to work under Mono: http://www.mono-project.com/MoMA
It won't pick up things like using environment specific directory delimiters, but it's decent enough at telling you whether things are going to work or not. |

You'd need to change the mapper, rewrite all the mapper specific code, and rewrite all the sound related code. It's totally possible. (If you have an intimate knowledge of the stuff I listed)
But good luck, as you'll need it. |
