I need to be more subtle about it

Although thta'd probably be a good idea, considering they've got all kinds of fun shit on it like some sort of mailer...

I did auto-update because it was easier.

When full layouts come back (with &tags&) they should go back to "save with post".

Besides, there *was* an auto-update feature...

Firefox does that. Hell, back on the old board, Firefox-using admins who had to edit people's posts often found Firefox overwrote the username/password fields with the stored one.

That sucked.

Well, the thing is, the computer needs to remain usable enough so that they don't have to use xk's "lapper-puter-jiggy" for the internet.

I'm wondering why your grandfather needs the light on... perhaps if he had a desk lamp or something, he wouldn't need the entire light on. I can imagine they're getting old, so their eyesight might not be all that great.
He does have a desk lamp.

That's the thing.

He just constantly turns it on because YOU NEED SOME GODDAMN LIGHT IN HERE

I like it when they claim it'll ruin my eyes. The irony being that it's much easier to look at a laptop screen in the dark, especially if I dim it.

*223331» @laptuna> I like how a problem I can't ehlp
*223338» @laptuna> namely, that my hair/scalp goes fucking *nuts* when it's hot
*223342» @laptuna> (extremely itchy and annoying in general)
*223351» @laptuna> while I'm helping my grandpa with the clogged pipe in the storage room
*223352» @laptuna> ...
*223355» @laptuna> we're in the storage room anyway
*223358» @laptuna> side of the house
*223419» @laptuna> aparrently the dryer's running so it's getting really goddamn hot in there and I'm supposed ot be helping hold the flashlight for him so he can watch the draino go down a pipe
*223425» @laptuna> meanwhile my hair's going insane
*223440» @laptuna> so I just hand it to him and tell him I'll wait right outside (less than 3 feet away no less, just out an open door in fresh air)
*223445» @laptuna> FINE JUST GO INSIDE
*223502» @laptuna> "sorry, but I can't stand this heat, it makes my hair itch badly" OH JESUS CHRIST WHAT CAN YOU STAND

This after ruining my night by telling me we'd do this two hours ago, effectively making me wait two hours thinking he'll be doing it any minute and arhthghh

VNC. Just randomly connect and send Alt+F4, move the mouse up slowly, etc.
I use Radmin because VNC sucks.

On the old board, auto-update only picked the current layout for the person viewing the thread. At least this time make it so that auto-update applies to the person who made the post.

I think everyone would agree with that.
Uh, no

Debug... font?

There was a debug menu in Super Metroid?

But past that, somehow this doesn't suprise me. Hell, Metroid Fusion was bulit on top of Wario Land 4, and the debug room even looks exactly the same...

Now I just need a post deletion feature, and I'll be all set.

This explains why the constant influx of morons tends to disappear over time.

Solar panels? That is so awesome. It would be really cool if you could run the computer off of those, although I see how it would be inconvenient because you might not have access to sunlight everywhere you want to use the laptop.
I don't think that, like mine, he would actually want to use it as much as get it running and see how it is.

That's part of the reason for, you know, double checking.

Unlike Jesper, I actually read what I type. (That and this only does one user at a time)

There were several debug rooms in WL4 and MF unless I'm mistaken.
Yes, but they all shared graphics, for the most part. (Hell, Wario Land 4 blocks are present in Metroid Fusion!)

Seems almost like it's time for someone to write a quick "input PNG, get image" conversion utility, explicitly for this purpose. It seems kind of whacked (I've had similar problems with YY-CHR... ugh.)

I wonder how hard the GBA format is, even.

Yeah, pretty much.

Admittedly I am very lazy here, but there's just nothing to actually do

*Xkeeper go thread bumping

Those of you who got to play the (somewhat unupdated) version of this will be able to tell what's different, although unfortunately it isn't much.

Hey, now, even the Brick250 was 250 MHz and had 32M of RAM

(And ran 98)
