I consider this picture to be the most important out of the bunch:

I kind of like the idea of basic signature support, but approval for layouts.

Mostly because one leaves the post alone, but the other can really fuck a post over and make it annoying to read.

At least they don't watch youtube movies of super hyper, obnoxious, and loud japanese anime while you're trying to sleep (glares at ex-roommate ).

- cousin coming in room, youtubing and being an annoyance

But then again, I said:
Nobody did anything to screw anything up!
Now, because of this, xk still won't have a good morning, because his grandparents probably will throw a bowling ball at him to wake him up
I swear, when it's not us, it's them, and when it's not them, it's us

earlier today, hopefully xk will never have to deal with that.

So yeah... what strikes me odd is that your granparents are in the room at 5 am... do they ever sleep? It seems that they don't understand that in order for you to not sleep during the day, you need sleep at night. Even worse is that your grandfather needs the light on for some reason. Maybe would a desk lamp help or something? I'd imagine it's next to impossible to reason with them about what time is 'computer time' and what time isn't.
And then banging on the windows until I woke up and screamed

QUIT BANGING ON THE GODDAMN WINDOWS

Since aparrently they were too stupid to have an actual set of keys.
Mind you this was my aunt, cousin, and grandma all at once, maybe more.

NotSoFatso + Winamp + NSF of the game + Diskwriter = your friend.

Past that, I've never even seen NWC, and I seem to recall it being just a 3-game championship match

I think I actually remember Fyxe from somewhere
Fyxe vanished years ago, nobody knows where he went.

Rumor has it that one person keeps contact with him, but nobody knows anymore.

I did state that there were vulnerabilities. While I do think that it is important that they are acknowledged and that people know about them

When asked about the vulnerabilities, Apple refused to comment.

There was no mention of any exploits, any pending patches, warnings, nothing, on the Safari page when these were discovered (and a few days after. It might be changed now, but it wasn't this morning).

When you're notified of a system-controlling exploit, the first hting you do is either notify the users via the webpage or just take the download down until it can be patched.

Apple did neither for a good two days (mabye more, depending). For that, I don't give a shit what anyone thinks, Apple deserves to be smacked around for it.

In other news, I don't care enough to have the Shitty Mac-OS Theme on my laptop, so I won't bother getting it.

I like my programs, you know, normal. Opera suits me very nicely.

Performance measured in seconds. Testing conducted by Apple in June 2007 on a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo-based iMac system running Windows XP Professional SP2, configured with 1GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon X1600 with 128MB of VRAM. HTML and JavaScript benchmarks based on VeriTest’s iBench Version 5.0 using default settings. Testing conducted with a beta version of Safari; all other browsers were shipping versions. Performance will vary based on system configuration, network connection, and other factors.
I like how they seem to have only tested on one system, and I wouldn't doubt it at all if they had customly tweaked their "beta browser" to work faster specifically in those areas (after all, disable what isn't needed and whoosh! faster!)

Elegant user interface.

Safari’s clean, sleek look lets you focus on the web instead of your browser. The browser frame is a mere one pixel wide. You see a scroll bar only when you need one. You see no status bar by default — a blue progress bar fills the address field as the page loads — giving you more room to browse and view the web.
I never got this idea, supposedly having a completely different, non-standard look for a browser suddenly makes it clean and sleek? What the fuck?

SnapBack.

With most browsers, it’s easy to lose your way on the web. You go surfing, and before you know it, you’ve drifted far from where you started. Stop hitting the Back button and start using SnapBack in Safari. SnapBack lets you instantly snap back to your original search results or to the top level of any website, even after you’ve browsed down a few levels.

We're sorry, but your browser failed. Please try again after making it suck less.

The myth that Apple computers are "expensive" is just that -- a myth -- but I see why it exists. If you actually compare similar, comparable computers, Apple compares very very well price-wise to very similar PC hardware.

I'm running a 1.8GHz with 512 MB (adding 1GB ~= 150$), 80G HDD, DVD+R burner with a ginormous screen (like, 1440x900 jumobotron, fits a complete numpad too)... and it put me out about $900.

Mine doesn't overheat and cook eggs, though

I would need more information to know if you are making a fair comparison or not, Xkeeper.
Too bad. Apple's "we only deal with morons who don't want to actually know how things run" mindset is nice enough to only give that much information without having to do a lot of digging ("Select" just takes you to CUSTOMIZE YOUR MAC ONE STEP AT A TIME!, thanks but no)

I've had enough of dealing with Apple's site in general ("let's make everything fade and slowly transform into what it should be, hurhrurhuruhrurh") to go digging past the initial equipment list.

I can find detailed specs ont he main product page with any other site I buy from. Why should Apple be any different? It just makes it much more complicated (and goddamn annoying) to look up details.

Then again, they know anyone who buys Apple products will always buy them, so they can afford to do this shit.

It was interesting, too bad some of the rooms served no purpose at all..

Beyond that, though, it was still just as odd as ever

(too bad the code I got didn't work on the site, oh well...)

Most of what they do besides hoyle card games is just AOL email over the oldnet.

Oh, here's a new one from today:

Grandma: Comes in room, clicks off rotary fan YOU DON'T NEED TWO OF THOSE RUNNING.
Xkeeper: Uh... why? Noting that it's still the hottest room in the house, anyway
Grandma: WE JUST GOT OUR POWER BILL AND IT WAS $280!!!
Xkeeper: ... Okay. And you leave the jumbotron on all the time, even when nobody's in it.
Grandma: THATS BECAUSE IT TAKES JUST AS MUCH POWER TO TURN IT OFF AND ON THAN TO JUST LEAVE IT ON!
Xkeeper: ... No. See, when it's off, it uses zero power... oh, fuck it, it's impossible to argue with you.

Wait.
Henderson, NV: Boring, 106°F (41.1°C) - Forecast: Clear; High: 107°F (41.7°C), Low: 81°F (27.2°C)

Xkeeper: Okay, if you're so uptight about the power bill...

Xkeeper: WHY ARE YOU RUNNING TWO FREEZERS, OUTDOORS, IN 106°F HEAT?!?!

Seriously, the logic in this place astounds me.

I hope I never get this old (and stupid).

My guess is that's no fun for them living with you, either.
I don't really get in the way much at all, I generally just sit on the bed doing nothing (since there's, you know, nothing to do. )

Bleh.

Funny you should mention Konqueror...

I was coming here to point out a security vulnerability that every modern browser except Konqueror is affected by.
Nice blank page.

Oh wait, it requires you to have Javascript enabled, which I leave off unless I need it.

Oh well.

I change the cards in FreeCell. I noticed him make an invalid move and go back to AOL/Hoyle Card Games.

I just wish he'd leave...

Yes.

In other news, some people are already making me glad I'm waiting to add layouts.

Nice to see people can be intelligent with signatures. This shitwad made one that purposely covers up the next post (appeared 100px below th enormal signature field)...

Greh.
