Worst storyline ever, and X5's was bad enough already.

Then again just call me an odd Megaman fan since I hate Zero, and really wish the series would have ended with a real duel between X and Zero (like X2 and X3's endings hinted at), but I guess that was just TOO dark for Capcom. But it would have been epic. Instead we got the monstrosities that are X7 and X8.
I think Capcom originallly wanted it to end at X5, hence the rapid downward spiral plotwise after that

(Naturally, cash cow = milk it longer, etc)
