So, got any bets on when a mod decides to jump ship and stir up some drama on their way out?

I'm betting HyperHacker in a day and a half. What about you guys?

Sadly, I don't think Alice has it in him.
Hyperhacker already publically stated that he really, really disliked the idea of me being anything past "banned" (and definitely not "coder/owner")... so fat chance of that

is it sad that I laughed out loud when I saw that?

Doubly so since I'm in a closet? D:

(no, not that kind of closet)

Isn't the edit feature implemented yet? I remember there being a text by 'quote' that said 'Edit', but it has a strikeout, but now it's gone entirely. So, zuh?
Well, XK just added some code that would show that link on posts depending on if you were allowed to edit that post or not. The editpost page itself have yet to be created.
But Acmlm overwrote it I'll have to see if it's too hard to edit back in.

(Mabye it's just commented out...)

But don't you just keep going into the forum over and over again, never managing to finish the post?

Unless you used the Japanese version, then it just kicks you back to the index in "super lame" mode.

I think I'll avoid closing this just because... I wonder if he meant "RPG" as in the genre of games, or RPG as in "rocket propelled grenades", or RPG as in "tabletop roleplaying games".

We will never know//It is a mystery!

Imajin was the character who was replaced by Toad ...
Mario replaced Imajin. Toad replaced Papa.
I thought Papa replaced Luigi, but I'm pretty sure you're right about Imajin/Mario.

I was considering just moving her to a seperate channel, but that works too Personally I like them in the same window...

But at least she doesn't output everything she recieves, her real bot window on my other computer is a mess

(Also, I think you can just use standard timestamps instead of appending your own...)

Generally, making it known to your parents friends and siblings (i.e., aunts and uncles) that you're a computer person is a good idea, since when they need help they come to you

Case in point, my mom's friend asked me to help her set up a few routers and modems, so I did some tweaking and got their computer in shape, then got their modem set up (and got it activated), then got the router all set up and configured...

Then I went to her house and set up another router for her I was gone all of about four hours, most of which was spent doing nothing...

All of that, and I get free lunch and $200 Not bad for all I did, plus she gets to return two PCMCIA cards she was sold she didn't need...

Best of all, she's going to need more help soon with another computer that needs set up and cleaned, and an iPod. It's not that bad as she's not terribly computer literate (I help her with some things), but I'm also trying to teach her... heh.

Oh well, not a bad day so far... here's hoping it can last until tomorrow

$200 plus free lunch for 4 hours of easy work != working for a big company.

Now all he needs to do is make sure this sort of thing happens more than every few months. If XKeeper could do this every day, he'd be livin' the high life! (plus, free food!)
Xkeeper ¬_¬

And besides, it wasn't even really 4 hours of work -- it was at most maybe 1:30, with 2:30 dedicated to picking my nose and farting on the internet (foti).

Installation programs sure take a while

I'd rather wait for most of the graphics and a bit of the level design to be ironed out before a demo, and even then maybe have just a small two level demo to show off the changes...

I do fraud detection for Capital One. I love the work environment and the people that work there, but some of the callers... You want to bitchslap them sometimes.
But what's in your wallet?

*shot*

Okay, really, I'm just lazy and I go to college I might apply for a job at the techdesk soon, as I know a few people who work there and they generally enjoy it. (From what I see, it's usaully not much more than de-fucking up computers and arranging printouts)

It's my name given to me at birth.

It seemed fitting.

This brings to mind on how few people actually use their names for their aliases in part or whole on the internet(s).
A lot of us are, at a young age, instilled that REAL NAMES ON THE INTERNET IS EVIL!!! by our parents. It tends to stick.

I just don't want people calling me, like I know they would

My only problem with schooling is that there's too much focus on "what happened then" (i.e., the exact shade of turd George Washington released in 1776) and not enough on "what's happening now".

Seriously, no one cares that Dr. Fraud died in 1978 after ingesting 500 pounds of burritos. We just need to actually, you know, learn what mattered.

No one's going to ask the exact date the internet was discovered, so why bother learning it? (Albeit, a general range and some information e.g. "made several years ago by a group of xintists" is useful)
