LANCE 10K
An old boss of mine. LANCE 10K was supposed to be part of my "Fragments of Men" series (right after Venom 5k Squad battle) but its design just wasn't there yet at the time. LANCE 10K is very similar to some other bosses from various shmups: Scorpio from RefleX, Golet from Radiant Silvergun and Beacon Core from Gradius V. I'm glad its design finally worked out as I'd thought. Those who are looking for generic-searchlight-winged-bullet-hell-crazy-god-like boss might be disappointed by this creation, but for me it was a nice chance of pace. MATRIX HIBACHI
Matrix Hibachi is the first boss of my new "Fraxy Tribute" series and it's dedicated to japanese Fraxy player, oomagatuhi. He's specialised creating danmaku like bosses, very similar to ones seen in Cave's and other famous bullet hell shmups. I really like his style - his bosses are extremely ruthless and he makes no compromises with their bullet patterns. Nevertheless, oomagatuhi's bosses are just as much fun as they are hard. But now back to my recent boss. Matrix Hibachi has two different versions. Well, both of them act and look very much alike, but the later version, DEATH LABEL, is much harder one. Not only all Hibachi's attacks have been upgraded but he has a new form too. Why I did two versions instead of one? Well, I didn't want to players think the boss as too hard or unfair but at the same time I wanted create something as ruthless and unforgiving as some of oomagatuhi's creations. And there we go, two different versions were made to please everyone. Don't get me wrong, the normal version isn't a picnic... But atleast you don't have to max out all your ship's stats and weapons in order to survive. Keep in mind that both of these bosses were designed for the area fixed mode and 360 x 480 window. To change the size of your window, just open the fraxy.cfg file in Notepad and change Display_X to 360. GODDESS VIRGO - Model XX
Although Goddess Virgo's appearance is pretty much identical to Virgo 400K, both bosses act very diffenrently. The most notable change, however, is that small barrier circling the player ship. As you might guess, the barrier actually reflects some of Virgo's bullets, which can really come handy in those most hectic bullet hell patterns. The barrier breaks as you shoot at it, but will recover almost instantly if you stop shooting. Timing is the key. However, some of Virgo's artillery (e.g. lighting fast homing lasers) WILL penetrate the shield and Virgo even has an attack, which will nullify your barrier for a moment. Probably my favorite remake to date. I'm satisfied how the barrier worked out - it makes the boss feel so much more faithful to my original inspiration, RefleX's final boss Raiwat Virgo. Posted by Boxorak I tried implenting the massive laser attack (and those smaller drones had part to it too), but attack was too tedious and boring for my taste, so I discarded it. And since all my bosses are flawed in a way or another, there is always a way surpass them. So much room for improvement and my skills are still limited, but I'll do my best to improve as time goes by. Posted by Perfect Infinity I don't really see how this could prevent you working on the same idea. I couldn't have made any of my bosses if I had thought like that. |

SEVEN FORCE
If you're familiar with Gunstar Heroes, I'm sure just the boss' name says it all. For those who haven't got a chance to play it (shame on you): Seven Force is a gigantic transforming mech, with seven forms, hence the name. And this is my remake of that boss. All the forms are there (Blaster, Eagle, Crab, Tiger, Tails, Urchin and Soldier), but some attacks have been changed. PINK DREAM
Yet another bullet hell boss. Pink Dream's most notable trait isn't the boss itself: It's the custom made player weapon, Pink Flash, which acts like a bomb which reflects enemy bullets and even causes some damage to enemy. Using it is very simple: all you've to do is to wait till the bomb charges up and when you press fire, the bomb is released. There is no amount limit for these. However, Pink Flash isn't flawless. Charging it requires you to stop firing so if you keep pressing that fire button, the bomb won't recharge. There are also bullets which won't be reflected by the bomb but can be destroyed with your main shot. There are two regular forms and two secret forms. To trigger the last forms, you'll have to defeat the regular forms using Pink Flash only three times or less. DEVA Penta DEVA Penta is an omake boss to Penta from Radiant Silvergun. As in RS, DEVA Penta controls small Silvergun fighters which attack you relentlessly. While holding boost button, all incoming bullets will slow down, which makes dodging of some of the harder patterns much easier. Also recommended control mode is Keyboard 2. Bull Frog Download link A remake of Ketsui's stage 1 boss, Bull Frog. Has an angry secret form. I also tried to recreate Ketsui's lock-on weapon system. Here is a short summary of it: While shooting, hold boost button down for a moment and the lock-on formation should trigger (or vice versa; while boosting, press shoot). You aren't able to lock-on boss' weak points unless you're infront of them - it should also be noted that the lock-on bullets won't fire while player is respawning. Those are from Radiant Silvergun's Saturn version (which are actually various voices from history). I actually just took audio from a gameplay vid of final fight, that's why you can also hear bulletshots and explosions in the background.
