No no, Kawa.

Don't you see? It's another ploy to make you buy both versions of the GSC remakes. "Oh, you can't get those pokemon anymore? That's okay. Buy the New™ Pokémon game with extra pokemon that you could get before anyhow!'

I liked it because I was playing a direct remake that polished the bad features but retained the original quality of the first game. It's not as good as the rest of the series, but it's still a nice play for a fan, especially one who loves the NES/Famicom era of gaming ^^;

Unfortunately it wasn't a $70 AUD worth of polishing which basically meant that it was pirate fodder or you may as well have just emulated the original.

There's even the oft-maligned DS Rumble pack....

Well, not really.

The point is that Nintendo has basically cut off and neutered a lot of functionality from their console which has been used for a variety of large and small things.

Cutting features in the middle of a generation is the problem - not the fact that they cut them at all. I don't think anyone expects the next Nintendo Gameboy Ultra Thingamajig or whatever to keep GBA compatibility.

The problem is that before the DSi, the DS had a lot of extensibility and you could add extras to it for stuff like Guitar Hero or do the nifty pokemon crap. Now Devs have to decide whether they'll support everyone and be limited in what they can do or support just the DSi gives, or support whatever the DS/DSl can do.

In short, Nintendo's just fractured compatibility and created a nightmare for everyone involved but themselves.

Oh and the AR thing doesn't cut it anymore - Nintendo's updates have meant that unlicenced carts don't work anymore. (At least mostly for the time being - compatibility is very low).

You weren't around for the shitstorm that happened when Sony axed the PS3's backward compatibility with the PS2?

"Fixed" in the sense of very limited compatibility as opposed to 99% compatibility with the PS2's entire library.

There's a reason that anyone who wants a PS2 compatible PS3 is hunting around for the models that had hardware support for it.

The SDK itself is official but it doesn't officially support L4D yet.

I have a couple of hats, but yeah that one is very fedora-ish. I'm getting myself a top-hat just to be extra stylish soon too.

SNES simcity was the best out of the original simcity versions, I think.

SimCity 2000 is still a spiffy game too (Never tried the SNES port of it though)

Lots of people say either the SNES version or Simcity 2000 PC version is their favorite... but surprisingly rarely played the more modern versions. Getting a little offtopic~

It's not that surprising - everyone who's over the age of 15 and has used a computer has played either the original or 2k, while Simcity 3 and beyond aren't actually that well known by comparison - they never gained that "everywhere" status.

Heh. While SMB3 is not my favourite Mario game, you guys are certainly doing some neat stuff with it.

Trax: THAT IS AWESOME

I could do Advance Wars 1 to DoR stuff, but that would involve actually sorting out my notes to be in an intelligible order.

Some mix of option 1 and 2 would be best, I think.

Couple attributes to tiles, but allow the attributes or tiles to be edited separately...so I guess Modal Style would be better.
