http://www.thefuckingweather.com/

a hilarious way to check the weather in your area! 8D

Slightly more on-topic, it was cold and rainy today. Just overall a very nasty day out. I wish the weather would make up its damned mind, I'm tired of it constantly changing from cold to warm and back again. I feel like I'll get really sick at this rate, which would suck. I can't afford to miss any school...

2) Convince an administrator that you are indeed the person who you claim to be; they might wish to verify this by comparing IPs

This may not work if the person's IP has changed since his last login. Unless he's got a static IP. But for that you'd need to ask yor ISP and all...

Email addresses would be the way to go. Like, you tell the admin to email you and tell him you will reply a certain phrase, and, if the person has replied the email with the exact same phrase, it's okay...

I think that would be a good idea, but after the user responds with the correct phrase, THEN they're sent an email with their password. If the password is in the first email, it doesn't matter if they respond with the phrase or not; they have what they wanted.

On another note, I actually quite like Kawa's idea. Of course, you could always go on IRC and ask an admin, and there's no issues with that. This would just be a way of doing the same thing, but not having to bother anyone past coding it into the board. I know the admins can be pretty busy at times, so this would really just expedite the process.

I honestly went into that thinking "I'm still gonna use Google Maps, but I want to see what Microsoft is trying..."

By the end, I was pretty amazed. The fluidity of it was impressive, especially in their version of the Street View. I like the integration of pictures from various places, and the video was incredibly well done. I also really like how you could look up into the sky and see constellations and whatnot.

Still, while these features are nice, I'm probably going to stick with Google. All these features are nice and surprisingly well implemented (though I'm still a bit confused as to how you'd get the video feed thing to show up), but I just wouldn't use them. Whenever I go to Google Maps, I go there to print out directions to a place. If I want to look around cities and such on that kind of level, I either mess around in Street View or go to Google Earth. Earth also covers the constellations and sky part, too. Microsoft is doing an impressive job trying to compete with Google, and they have a lot of very cool features that they have running really well, but for me, I wouldn't use anything more than what I get with Google Maps.

Also, is it just me, or was he using an iPhone? If he was, I can't help but laugh at the irony of a Microsoft employee using an Apple product during such a big demonstration.
