Posted by Kirby Mario Two concepts to solve your problem: 1. Subsidies 2. Coal Trains Coal trains equals instant profit. Then use your new source of cash to connect those cities and services that you need. Just try not to build too many roads, I've found those eat at your money faster than most other things (short of terraforming). ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Posted by Xkeeper Who exactly is J. Parish? I've seen that name way back in the day on the old RPGamer message boards, I believe in the Final Fantasy Series board... Can't place the person, but I do know the name... ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Posted by Jinsei, benevolent star That's what I just got told by the people at the last remaining old-style forum at RPGamer. 5 seems to have a login bug. First off, the password is no longer masked to asterisks, and second, when typing in the correct password, after clicking OK, it gives "Run-time error '40020'; Invalid operation at current state". Although it's not like it matters, as I've never received any PMs yet, so there's really no reason to login, but I miss her saying "Good morning, MaxKnight."
Only bug I've found. I'll keep an eye out for any more, but I hope to not find any more. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Hope this helps. Nevermind, the problem is on my end. When on for long enough, Norton Internet Security wigs out. It stops allowing rules to be made to allow new programs to access the internet. Those programs usually freeze up and refuse to go anywhere, but TinaSitter closes with an error. It's all fixed now. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

As it says in my profile, my name is Jonathan Hartman. At one point, I went by Jon, but I have since given up that name. My nickname here (and everywhere for that matter) has no bearing to my real name. In fact, I'd say my nickname is a completely different person. I'd elaborate, but I feel this is not the thread for it. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Step 1) Acquire Nick Arcade Sonic 2 Prototype.
Step 2) Input Game Genie code to restore collision to Green Hill Zone. Step 3) Progress to Chemical Plant Zone. Step 4) Run around until you wind up upside down on the corner of a loop. Step 5) Take Screenshot. Step 6) Crop image to 100x100. Step 7) Add in red letters: You're doing it wrong! That is all. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Forget that. That's not genuine. Getting into this position while actually PLAYING the game makes it classic. Plus, this only works like this using those particular steps.
Plus, I've never used any Sonic editors. I'm not into Genesis hacking, so it'll never come up. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Posted by Drag Ailure was doing that very thing to my buses... And I haven't logged in for two days, so I don't know how I'm doing... Also, Doritokiller, if you're basing progress off of the game's AI, don't. The AI does not build in any way close to how a human does, and a human would be doing a whole lot better than that. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Doritokiller: I suggest playing a game without any AI. They will not contribute to your play style one bit. Get used to starting fast, and blowing most of your money on lucrative freight routes, such as long distance coal routes, and Farm-Factory routes. Then, you can diversify into other things, such a passenger trains/planes, small bus routes between close cities, and other things.
Once you've got your loan payed off, that's when you can be really creative. Complicated routes and beautiful designs make the game much more enjoyable. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Koitenshin: You can turn off breakdowns in the difficulty settings in game. You can even change it anytime in game. What version are you playing? And which, if any, NewGRFs are you using? ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

...Win?
Most people I know say that's failtastic. They say there have been very few actual good olympic games released in the past, and I'm inclined to agree with them... But... eh. It's up to you if you like it. I think I'll pass. Not much of a fan of those types of games... Now if Sonic showed up in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, that's be a different story... ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Posted by Ailure I look at it in exactly the opposite light. People have been clamoring for a Sonic-Mario crossover for years since Sega got out of the hardware business. This is the first game to actually do so. Nintendo is not going to ruin this game by making an infinitely better game that has both of them in it. Logic dictates that people will just buy and play SSBB to have a game with both Sonic and Mario in it than that one. I can't see it happening right now, not with this hanging over us. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

I don't really care. I have no plan to buy the game in the first place (not a fan of that type of game). I'm just trying to be realistic about it, since everybody seems to come to the same conclusion (that this means Sonic will definitely appear in SSBB). I just can't see it happening with the release of this game... ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |
