Item the first: It might not happen in 'Murica, but Britian's Got Talent was won by a cell phone salesman who sang opera. If that's possible, that should at least show you how open it is.
Item the second: ef a dumb whoever shot down Coolaid the Clown and his kids that krump. Item the third: ALEX MOONEY'S BUTTOCKS! Sure, they're no The Great Throwdini, but STILL. Item the foutth: Y'all realize Boy Shakira's gonna win, right? Johnny Lonestar or (seriously) Cas Haley should take it, though. |

Bran Van 3000: "Astounded"
See what happens when great record labels go under? YOU. Don't get to hear great songs such as this. It's Curtis Mayfield's last recorded session, and Jamie DiSalvo et al put some damn good music behind it. I wouldn't necessarily say it's the best that could've been done, but it fits VERY well. Besides, the important thing is it's Curtis Fuckin' Mayfield singing. Listen to it (if you can find it on the Interwebs... shouldn't be that hard, if the right people are on Soulseek, as odds are you'll have a hard time finding this CD legitimately) and try to tell me his falsetto doesn't give you shivers. Probably the best song by an underrated collective (seriously, did anyone even so much as take "Drinking In L.A." seriously, never mind they released more than that one song?). |

Well, los federales are getting involved, and Vincent Kennedy might very well have to testify before Congress. Lovely.
So, to lighten the mood: |

So, I hear there's this Projekt Revolution thingy. Anyone been to any of the earlier dates? I'm only interested in Placebo, and may start throwing things at the headliners. |

Well, there were those two I got senior year, but who cares. #3 came on my way back from something, where I pulled over to the left. See, I was in the far left lane, and there was enough traffic I felt it unsafe to go four lanes to the right just to get my ticket. (For the record, I was doing 70 in a 50.)
The cop bitches me out and hangs $300 for speeding, PLUS an extra $200 for two charges relating to pulling over to the left. Fought it and got out the door with just about $200, only for speeding. Psst: I've managed to squeeze about 50 more miles per tank out of my car when I stick to no more than 75 on highways (within reason, of course). So there's that motivation, seeing as one more ticket and I'm off to traffic skewl... |

Good news, to balance the old: Remember Rick Ankiel? Rookie phenom as a pitcher, then lost all command? Went down to the minors two years ago to try and hack it as an outfielder. Well, after slapping about 30 (!) homers in AAA this season, he just came up (replacing Scott Spiezio, who's in rehab... no reason given, presumably drugs) to the Cardinals, and smacked a three-run homer tonight. It was his third career homer (he hit two as a pitcher) but his first since 2000. |

THUG was the absolute peak of the series. THUG2 sucked with gusto and passion, while THAW was okay, if not suffering from a touch of Same Old Shit Syndrome. Have yet to play Project 8, though. |

Ones who does not comprehend the greatness of Electric Six can't get in. (Although their first album was better than "Switzerland", which is where mine comes from. Thus, the Swiss flag briefcase with money pouring out of it.) |
