Does anyone have the 2 hacks by Chickenlump that changed Mario to a Koopa Troopa and a Goomba, respectively? They would be much appreciated.
(And before you ask, yes, I did use Google. Nothing.) |

Is it just me, or are the path colors in the forest submap different? (The levels accessed via secret exit) |

Something that is very important to me is my Nintendo Wii (pronounced “we”). I got it for Christmas last year, thinking that I wasn’t due to their popularity and difficulty to find. But I beat the odds! I felt lucky not only because I got it, but also because I unwrapped it before unwrapping the games because that would have spoiled the surprise! It wasn’t the only video game system we got that Christmas, as my brother got a slim PlayStation 2. But that’s a different story entirely.
I can still hear myself screaming, “It’s a Wii! It’s a Wii!” in front of my mom, dad, brother, and dogs after unwrapping it, realizing I just got the one thing I wanted but didn’t expect to get. With the console, I got Wii Sports, which was included with the console itself, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, and Madden NFL 07. Two months later, I got WarioWare: Smooth Moves with my left over Christmas money. All four games use motion-sensitive controls, which is the system’s main draw, and you can also download games for NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and TurboGrafx-16 from the system’s “Virtual Console.” However, I have yet to be able to connect my Wii to the Internet, so I haven’t downloaded any classic games, or used any other of the console’s Internet features, such as the News Channel, Forecast Channel, and the built in Opera browser. I have heard that it’s difficult to type things in while using the Opera browser with the Wii, so maybe that’s a feature I’ll avoid. The console is also backward-compatible with Nintendo GameCube games and accessories. Each game has it’s own control scheme using the Wii Remote (Wiimote for short) and nunchuck attachment, usually mimicking the real life motion of the same action, like passing the football in Madden to rolling a Bowling Ball in Wii Sports’ Bowling mode, and it’s pretty easy to lose control of the remote, resulting in it flying into the TV, the windows, or innocent bystanders, just to name a few. My only Wii mishap happened when I hit my mom with my backswing during a round of Wii Sports’ Bowling mode. No real harm done there, though, and I foresee that I won’t have many other Wii accidents, considering both of my Wiimotes have grip covers on them, and I don’t even use the included wrist strap. Right now, my best Wii achievements are beating WarioWare in 2 days and turning pro (by accumulating 1,000 points) in Wii Sports’ bowling mode, and I’m sure that there will be many more to come. There are many other Wii games that I would like to get, such as Mario Party 8, The Bigs, Blitz: The League, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl, which features Solid Snake of Metal Gear fame. Solid Snake! So what if he emerged from a crate in the trailer? He’s still going to kick some serious butt! So what if the motion-sensitive controls won’t be utilized for the game? It just makes the gameplay that much better! The Wii could very well be the most fun I’ve ever had with a game console, what with the motion-sensitive controls and ability to play games from past Nintendo systems, along with Sega’s Genesis and NEC’s TurboGrafx-16. Mimicking the real life motions is a blast, and it actually can give you a serious workout, what with Wii Sports’ fitness mode and WarioWare’s crazy minigames. And knowing that I’m one of the few people in the area with one makes it all the more sweeter. Now if only someone would make a hockey game… |
