Crazy as it sounds, I wonder if it is possible to use Mario's animations from when he uses the hammer to destroy one of the towers. Like a hammer powerup or something.

Of course I do not expect it to work, but since it is coded already, I just wonder.

Seen this one a while back.

And no, I do not know the code to make those links.

I seen more scary Mario related work... >__>

I think one of the Mario games suggested that Bowser isn't really that... evil. More like obsessed about peach for some reason...

...heh.

Well marriage with her will let him to rule over the Mushroom Kingdom. That is at least his plan in Super Mario Adventures (even hypnotizes her with magic to do so).

Some of the top ones that I found were made for a comical sense. I know that I have some more, but they are not up there like these.

Dead Alive/Brain Dead
Evil Dead II
Evil Dead III: The Army of Darkness

These of course were made for a sense of humor with horror mixed.
I never liked "Scary Movie" or the many knock-off imitation movies making fun of the horror genre.

Shaun of the Dead was a great comedy horror. The fact that it takes place in Britain makes it that much better. For one, the lack of fire arms.

I would like Paper Mario if it wasn't for the fact it is paper mario. It is just me and my own view, but I never liked the idea of the players looking flat. Plus the artist's style. Mario loses all facial expressions it appears (since he has no colors to his eyes).

What they really need is a 3d version (like Mario 64 or Sunshine) of Super Mario Bros 3.

But unlike most Paper Mario games I will get this one. It has a more normal mario fling to it gameplay-wise other than the new 2d to 3d swapping which looks nice.

1. This is the sort of thinking that totally ruins the idea of more artistic and niche-based games.
2. Congratulations. You have won the Nobel prize in Video Game Fanboy Ideas Lacking Merit and Originality

Alright. As an artist myself I have to say that all Super Mario games MUST use the same art styles and must lack all new ideas and originality.
That is how you think of my opinion anyhow. You can't seriously think I think like that.

Want to know something really scary? They're remaking Army of Darkness. Bruce Campbell doesn't play Ash.

Who does? Ashton Kutcher.

WTF!?

That is very hard to believe. I heard he was.
But then again, would Bruce be able to act as a college aged student? (not like he resembled one before. Maybe in Within the Woods he did.)

I wish those hollywood assholes would just leave the classics alone. They'd be better off making money by peddling drugs. If they get shot or convicted of conspiracy, at least they wouldn't kill a classic... which by the way, should be punishable by death.

We should start blacklisting them again.

I have to give you props on your collection there, Sgraff. I recognize a lot of those titles as ones that aired on Sci Fi Channel back in the day.

Yeah quite frankly I am more interested in the golden era of anime back in the 80's and early 90's. Akira and Vampire Hunter D were my first anime.

Also telling by your avatar you have good taste.

Yes, Fist of the leaky faucet is one of my favorites as well. My online alias on many games is Kenshiro. I don't know if you know about the series already, but if you like Hokuto no Ken, you should certainly check out JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. There are 6 arcs(not including steel ball run) with protagonists named JoJo (Joseph Joestar, Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanna, and Jolyne Kujo). Of those, the third and the first have anime adaptations. They are currently making a movie of the first arc. The manga of the third arc is currently the only one published in America.

Actually I tried to watch the OVA of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure a few years back but had trouble getting into it. Perhaps I will give it another try.

Just an update so that you all know that I am not giving up on this.
I am currently brainstorming interesting and fun levels.
The overworld map will not be viewed overtop but will be viewed from the side like a miniature level. I will also have a drawing of Bowsie (queen koopa) done soon.

There is always the possibility of going back to the original Wario Land and they might bring the helmets into play. Or money bags to attack players with.
I would also imagine they will have one or two levels or each player. With Wario, probably some type of temple.

More character designs. Enjoy. ^^

Bowsie looks even more tough than Bowser
Also I am still working with the design for the Koopa Troopas. Something seems off with her. Goombas look pretty good. ^^

I agree with you on Koopa being off, but I'm not sure if we have a similar wavelength. To me, it's just about how it seems more like a human in an outfit and not just an alternate-type Koopa. Maybe a little fusing in...

All the characters will resemble more human than their animal counterparts. Think nekomimi.

Posted by Madman200
Bowsie, yeah, seems somewhat tougher than her counterpart alright, but the hair...just doesn't seem that good to me. It's fine, but it's not getting to me on the wavelength.

The hair seems to fit her perfectly if you'd ask me. Maybe explain why it doesn't seem good?

Posted by Madman200
Goomba...works nicely. Is the color going to be the same as the former?

Brown? Then yes.

Who? I don't know who "nekomimi" is. Just remove the "hat" then.

Google is your friend. Nekomimi is the japanese style of a catgirl. Usually resembling a normal girl with cat features such as ears and tail.
Also, what hat? If I change her hair then what identity of a Koopa is there? Just the shell.

At first thought...you ever watch Dragonball Z? Where the characters reach the new height of perfection known as "Super Sayian"? It just reminds me of that in a way.

Yes she has wild and crazy hair. Roughly a longer version of Bowser's hair.

Those are some pretty awesome character sketches. My only thought is, are you confident in being able to fit the detail into the sprites so they look most like the sketches? You could go with 16 color sprites for more details but I'm just looking at the height/width of the sprites when I mean the detail. Do you think you'll have enough room?

I am fairly confident with my skill in sprites at this point. Bowsie has a lot of detail but she also will be larger than most sprites. Her colors are the same as Bowser's as well.
I already made a "Koopette" in my hack before and she featured a lot of detail. I kinda like this design a bit better. Seems that other people like it as well. I will see if I can change her around a bit. I was able to get Maria's sprites working despite her detail.
