One day not to long after I got my first computer I was on Google searching random things. I searched for "Super Mario Bros. 3" images and as I looked through the results I saw an image that was nothing like the original game. I click the link and it took me to Acmlm's site (which doesn't seem to be up anymore) which is where I found a link to this board. It's thanks to that one picture that I joined this board and started ROM hacking. It's been a good 4 years and I look forward to many more

I'm downloading the patch but before I try it I'll just comment of the screenshots.

OW-Looks pretty good although I'm not to sure that the flames fit in with the rest of it.
L1-Bullet Bill launchers in the first level is something new.
L3-It's what you would expect to see around 2 Hammer Bros.
L3-Looks like a good challenge.
L4-Very nice

L5-It looks like it's possible to get stuck between the two walls...
L5-Not bad.

I would have to agree. I liked the addition of a hidden coin in each level because I like that sort of thing (just like DK coins) but other than that I didn't really like this game. Everything you said describes it. The music was 500 times worse than the last game and the levels just weren't fun to play. I got it for Christmas and I haven't touched it since late December.

Looks like you left right before I joined. Anyway, welcome(back)! And yeah, I ~~remember~~ thought the second incarnation had an entire forum for newbie introductions, but it's not in the archive, then again, neither is general chat. But I didn't really like that anyway (If I didn't completely imagine it). It got kinda spammy (If it actually existed), and I don't like feeling obligated to introduce myself, I'm not sure why, a newbie thread seems the perfect idea.

There was a Newbie Forum (and a General Chat, plus a few others) but something happened to some of the forums when Xk's bomb went off. You can still get to them by putting in their ID though.
