You should try getting a CPU based emulator. That is what the world uses!! Also to answer your question before in IRC:

I agree. There is many projects out there besides mine. I don't see it dead till there is an editor for every game.

When it is ported to windows it will have the back palette editor and a few other things I figured out when I made Tekanoid.

How long would it take to make the editor, nine months to a year? I know I'd love to hack this game since I can't run anything DOS on this pc.


Depends on how it is...anywhere from 2-6 months, but I have some other projects right now.

I thought I told you where the data was years ago when you wanted to hack the ROM. After hearing this maybe I might push the editor up, maybe not. I just think people would be confused with the color system that was used...it was quite goofy!!

The editor should set each stage to the correct number of valid tiles. There is a byte that determines how many there is on the stage so it could of got changed manually.

Also Googie, I lost my doc also LOL! But I still have the original DOS source code!!

I have sitting on my HD tons of hacked to pieces of roms. I also have tons of unfinished editors that are still WIP. I hope to get some of these done in the future.

I also have Metroid M2 which has been in progress for like 3 years now. The map is being built from scratch, many things moved, new graphics and other goodies. It will be probably the best hack I ever release.

hehehe after sing this makes me to fish up my docs. long time ago I started an editor but gave up cause it was getting crummy and such. I know there is offsets for the Palette info...I shall look it up.

Any chance I could get the gfx compression method and plan a windows editor since all users are not mac.

Also there is a fix method to your vertical map....I have had the same issue in some other games.

Expanding it will have to depend upon how much extra room is left in the bank. I cannot answer that...but from what I herd Trax saying he said there is some room.

Does anyone know of another hacking utility for Simon's Quest besides Simon Says. I try to use it but it always gives me an error message? Also what would be the best tool to use to hack Ninja Gaiden games? I have Tile Layer and Nesticle and a few other utilities but I want to know if there is something out there that is not on Zophar.net or Romhacking.net or other websites that can be useful.


Wait on Ninja Gaiden. I believe I have an editor in process to be released next year
