i saw those comments and i can certainly say its just out of jelousy. there are many many many hacks out there that are complete horseshit but they can get very good comments and such. so its absolutely because you making people uppset that they cant do what you do by themself.
the only thing you should have done different was to not realese any demo at all, just wait until it's finnished. cause then people will have even more things to get jelous about and then it will just sound ironic.

well i think you should just take a brake. sometimes i dont do anything on my hack for weeks, months. then when i finaly starts again it goes so much better!

i totally know what ya mean about that.

im always constantly complaining to myself seriously tons of times how i wish i could get to have stuff on my game like SNES or genesis countless times ughhh..

Like "i wish i could have just 1 single little more color in order to make so and so appear correctly...or fix certain enemies mixed with others"

"i wish i could have this opcode from the SNES for programming"
"i wish i could...blah blah blah so many other things"

but i know we have to just deal with nes limits.

i know exactly what you mean. the limitations of the nes can be realy annoying sometimes. man everything would look so much better with just ONE more color in the pallette. Or what if the tile window just could be 1/3 bigger? Things would be 100 times easier.

Long ago, I heard at nesdev forums about a pretty tricky to pull of "hack" wich allows the hacker to insert more colors per sprite than normal.
Don't know if it's possible, but it would be cool.

dont you mean putting sprites over tiles? to make it look like there are more colors then possible? that way, you could use 6 colors on a "tsa square". instead of 3(if you dont count the first color to). i suppose

Double jump? Directional Bullets?

to do things like that you need to know asm. probably not possible otherwise. altough, music is possible to change between mega man 3-6(and SOME other capcom games) without knowing asm. i have mannaged to, but it takes some time and might be hard

I suppose too.
Is that even possible to do in the MegaMan 4 engine? If it is, it would be pretty useful for hackers like infidelity, kuja killer, and, obviously, Matrixz.

its already used here and there

i agree. many people say that mega man 2 is so damn hard, but since i got it when i was 7 or 8, dont know, i have played it through several times and therefore know the levels inside-out in my head. mega man 9 aint much harder. but its damn hard the first time.

on this hack - i think you should work more on the levels. like airman, try to change more then just the pallette.

I would like to help him since I'm pretty good with mixing graphics with other NES games but not drew them from scratch. I'll start about October or November 2010. I still don't have my PC back yet and my mom tried really hard to reach him. I'm not sure if MegaFLE X or ANY Programs like YY-CHR will work with Windows 7 because mine is being upgraded from the broken WinXP.

i tried windows 7. it was slow and unstable(on my computer). so i'd go for xp if i where you. cant you just install it yourself?

Hey guys!

I have a question about creating a hack of Mega Man 4. I just downloaded MegaFLE X, and I would like to know how to get started.

What ROM do it need? It prompts me for a specific ROM when I run MegaFLE X, and the Mega Man 4 ROM I currently have doesn't seem to work..

Do I need an emulator? If so, which one?

Thank in advance! I'd like to submit my hack once it's done.

if the one you have doesnt work just try another one. altough ive never experiensed one that wont work. you dont need a emulator unless you wanna play it. wich you probably would to test if the levels you make are playable

i'd say that if you just use a editor to edit eg graphics, palletes and so, it could be modding. when you hack the rom you write your own asm codes into the game and such.

Hi
Nevermind about my other problem, wich i fixed myself. But Iam wondering if someone can help me with this instead. If I wan't the game to change what to show in the PPU screen, how do I do that? For instance, on a certain screen on wave mans level I wanna change the lower tile screen from $86 to $7A. How do I do this? I would appriciate if someone could explain what to do, and why, so I understand what is happening Thanx!

Here's 2 more pictures from upcoming Maverick Revenge 2

Yeah, the game is nearly finnished. Or, at least more finnished then the first one ever got. I have realy tried hard to elliminate all graphical glitches, and I think I've done a decent job at it. Hopefully I can let you guys play this soon.

Thanatos-Zero
Googie

Thanx alot.
The graphics is a mixture of ripped graphics and made by me. Some is also ripped and then modified.
I've been very careful with what to take and what not cause I realy want the graphics to fit the levels.

The game is not far from finnished, I realy want you to play it as soon as possible

Just a friendly reminder to all those posting screenshots...

Please do not use the .bmp, or "bitmap" format. MS Paint likes to save to .bmp by default. Use .png.

Mickevincent, if you would be so kind, please edit those links to include one in another format other than .bmp.

It's done. I couldn't delete the first one thou.
