oh yea i tried that out friday night. pretty cool stuff.

but i was really confused with the flash man wep. the pink one that looks like a target icon attached to a long string.

I dont understand how that weapon is supposed to work cause it rarely ever seems to attack enemies. Is there some special way to use it ?

also the metal blade replacement was weird too, how you can hold onto it like the wheel wep in megaman 10, that didnt make sense to me either, didnt know if there was some certain way to use it or not...cause the first time you fire it, it does some weird stuff with megaman's animations and some bubbles appear.

It's very logical in physics. Think of it as the bow and arrow where the targets are supposed to hit at a certain point. If the target is bypassing the walls (Solid Tiles), it wouldn't work. I assume that PureSabe programmed the weapon very logically with the tile solidity database.

I couldn't understand the wheel Metal either and looks like some enemies had a poor hit detection. That's not even logical.

Personally is Super Demo World the Legend Continues and I recently brought this game on a reproduction cartridge. It's always a dream to play the game on a real SNES console.

Has anyone ever gotten the "Slippery" TSA designation to work in Rockman 4 levels other than Cossack 1? You can set it to every tile, but it doesn't change anything.

Matrixz made it possible and the code is in the patches folder after downloading MegaFLE X.

Hi there! Today is my 10th anniversary of my romhacking website being launched. To celebrate this occasion, I present you Mortal Kombat II Challenger on Super Nintendo which is based on the arcade version. It is incomplete and there may be bugs in the game and the missing key features from the arcade version. The project began in June 2015 and stopped around Mid-July.

It's still lying around on my PC so I think it's time to release it in public of my progress so far. This project is discontinued! If you want to be part of the project to complete it, please go on ahead. However, differ from the arcade version some tournament ladders are customized so you have to face Shao Kahn on the very last instead of the middle of the ladder.

It is also intended to be created as a reproduction cartridge for fans to enjoy this crazy arcade port and if only I could do the infinite dead pool uppercuts which I didn't include. Keep in mind that this is done by code via hex editor, not porting directly since I don't have knowledge of Z80 code to 65816 code transfer.

As a bonus, I created a custom tournament ladder called Mortal Kombat II Ninja Challenger which is included in the same file.

Here's the download file via dropbox.

Patching format is XDELTA and the rom is Mortal Kombat II (U) (V1.1)

Enjoy and happy gaming!

Not a romhack but it's been a while spriting a character using MS Paint and Photoshop. I'm not really the best spriter but I'm trying to make my sprites as accurate as possible.

Congratulations on your success. It's too bad that Roll Chan Mobile sprite couldn't make it due to hardware issues. She was planned for the 4th installment and was thinking about putting her to the 3rd or 5th installments since it's a bit easier. She's probably meant only for PC engine games and not NES cartridges. One of these days I should program a perfect sprite on the NES cartridge and bypass the hardware limitations.

Don't know about MM1, as it is my least favourite game in the series (I only beat it once I think).

Rockman Gaiden, Rockman Kai, Rockman RX & Rockman Claw are the only good hacks being made so far. People asking me on my Facebook for Rockman AF which is my project but I haven't touched it within a year. 100% maps completed but enemies not yet inserted. I'm expecting to work on it ASAP.

It depends on the sprites!
I would love to see a sprite sheet of 16-Bit Chris & Jill but in RPG overworld style.

Hi guys. I have an account at romhacking.net but I just registered for one here. I'd like some help with a problem.

I used rock5easily's Rockman 2 editor to do a palette swap test. I changed the colors of Air Man and Crash Man's stages. But it didn't go very well...

Instead of explaining everything that happened, I'd rather show through a video. Here it is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHVz9q-n8wM

As you can see, the little red faces on Air Man's foreground and the cloud animations were changed successfully. But the background remained blue instead of changing to orange.

As for Crash Man, everything changed perfectly. But from the long ladder segment and onward, the palettes remained the same.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I need some help since I'm still a beginner on all of this.

You clearly didn't change all the transparency colors. That is mandatory in all NES games.

@synnae what I mean is that I watched the whole video. I saw that you changed.... wait!

I wasn't fully how to understand it but why is the transparency colors 0F on palette quad 1, 2, & 3 while 21 on palette quad 0 that is shown in the video at 0:13. That doesn't make sense. I should take a look at it and may come up with a better answer. My gut tells me is the transparency colors is the one you need to edit as one color.

Shown in the video that you changed hex 21 but not all the transparency colors shown but in this case most of the NES games are required to use it.

2) I want to know how to swap music around in the game. For example: making Stone Man's BGM play on Charge Man's stage or vice-versa.

MegaFLE X has the music swap option. The game itself by coding is 16 btyes. I think it's misc. on the GUI option and you are able to select the tracks.

Since you have been into rom hacking what utilities and level editors have you used personally or screwing around in for testing over the years ?

Super Mario Bros. 3 for Super Mario All-Stars via SMB3 Workshop & Translhextion. I became more experienced with ASM but not the same as Dahrkdaiz's or Southbird's elite level. It's fun making levels and progress my imagination.

So NTSC music is no longer gives you content ID match. Oh well, I still like Rokko Chan BGM.

Code inspired by Googie on his Mario Time Flies hack but I slightly modified and copied from SMW's code database. I noticed that the code Googie uses only uses INC and the rest are NOP's which is useful but not programmed properly. If you want the code it's provided below. I can be used whether you grab coins (unless you create a new coin), P-Switch, Enemy Stomps and more. Remember to start with JSR on a certain address.

Assembler Example Alias HEX Description

LDA addr AD EF 05 - Timer for Middle Digit
CLC 18
ADC #const 69 02 - Timer Increase by number of actions
CMP #const C9 0A
BCC nearlabel 90 05 - Go to STA addr
SBC #const E9 0A
INC addr EE EE 05 - If 2nd digit pasts 9, First digit increases by 1.
STA addr 8D EF 05 - Timer for Middle Digit
RTS 60

Hmmmm....... Not a bad idea! Enemy splitting! It's possible for normal Goombas since it has a code when it turn Red Paragoombas to regular but 2 Enemies on one screen? If I get a chance I should open up SMB3 Disassembly and figure out how it works.

I assume that you saw me in that forum. Sometimes I posted at Xeogaming whenever I get bored but meh. Social media has been taking over rather than checking out some message boards. I got bored with few of the message boards so quickly. Not to mention that Xeogaming didn't have much activity either.

You know, I had my reasons to close Insectduel's Board and not allowing any more new registered members because I lost interest of the forum since social media is a new evolution of getting along with people from all over the world.

Tonight at 2AM in the United States for Daylight Saving Time we change our clocks 1 hour forward also known as Spring Forward or Summer Time. In this tradition, myself and English1stud's Sanctum made our own DST levels and Sun Clock Chase is one of my original levels. It's been on my head for a while and is inspired by Zelda's Majora's Mask about the timer & the moon but I got this completed and played in real time without save states and cheats even if I designed the level myself.

Since Super Mario Maker was released back in 2015, I thought I should start sharing my SMB3SMAS levels in Pre-Patched rom if anyone wants to try it out, just come to my Facebook and get one because I am always active on FB.

Spoiler:
Zynk, since you're talking about putting Roll Chan on the Rockman World series or Game boy Mega Man as you call it, I hope inserting Roll Chan Mobile sprites isn't a problem since the colors are monochrome. The problem is that Roll is taller than Mega Man for some reason.

I was wondering about this for a while but only decided to post it now.

Does anyone know what happened to Yosaku's Rockman Sparking to Hero? Music apart, the only thing left to modify is Wily Stage 4. (According to the latest update I have, at least).

I enjoyed playing that hack a lot and it's a shame to see Yosaku stopping progress on the very end. Is he having trouble to edit what's left or did he lose interest or something else?

I'm pretty curious to know.

I noticed that Yosaku's Twitter is gone because I can't find his account. Yosaku was going to include updates before completing Wily 4 but I can't seem to figure why the project being stopped especially if the project started in 2008.
