Then it must be the first door you wanted. You basically click "Use Current Screen" where you put the door screen at in your editor.

If these options don't work use the following ROM offsets. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Can anyone help me out on this? I really need them to get started on this Super Mario Bros. hack.


Why requesting to us while Google is your friend. I'm sure these patches are found easily in various ROM-Hacking sites.

I searched everywhere, nothing came up. I tried poison.ips, Luigi Game Patch, Running Hammer Bros., nothing worked.

The Luigi Game Patch turns the 2-player game into a 1-player game where you get to choose to be either Mario or Luigi like in Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Famicom Disk System.


I suggest you need a clean SMB1 ROM. The one you had proberly have a bad dump. Look for the [!] (PRG 0) one.

Nice timing. I can proberly fix bugs if I find one if it's okay. I'm off Mega Man IV hacking for a while for fixing my webpage and play Rock 4 Endless attack mode.

Since Nekoranda from Rockman Peercast gave me a idea, should my Mega Man IV hack also have endless attack mode like Rock5easily currently working on. It's going to take a lot of ASM work and only if I code it from scratch.

It's my idea though but only if I actually finish making levels, music, ASM, etc.

It took 3 days to figure out how to edit Wily's Skull Castle in Mega Man IV. Mega Man IV Skull Castle editing is much different than Mega Man II. It's somewhere in $64010-$6600F.

For me, I have to put the TSA blocks in the right place in a 32 Byte Screen hex editor with the TSA editor opened.

That's all the updates for now. I'm laiding this one a rest for the next 2 weeks.

I really like how you mix graphics for each level and for sprites. I did found an odd bug in Dive Man's stage that I couldn't resist. It's going to be a huge challenge fixing all of them including the gfx loads in each screen.

I'll do my best to fix them all.

Hey, is there a more detailed Super Mario Bros. ROM map somewhere? I once saw it on Insectduel's site before it changed so now I can't seem to find it anywhere. Someone please help, it also shows where the data for how many worlds in the game there is. I can edit that using SMBUtility but the custum checkbox won't stay checked. Please help me.


My site crashed because of Google Page Creator's shutdown. How about ROM-Hacking dot net. They have lots of SMB1 Documents.

I'm very sorry that my website crashed but it isn't my fault. I'll do my best to recover everything.

i just played the hack and i really liked it bomb man's stage confused me though 0.0...and how do you change the title screen and the title screen theme...?


It's ASM. I did the Title Screen theme code a long time ago and tested it. But I need custom music in my MM1 hack to do this.

Changing the Title Screen can easily be done with this.

alright new problem, when i put the conveyor belt sprite from Guts mans stage where the conveyor belt line is, it makes a noise but the sprite doesn't show up, why dose it do this?


It's clear that you place sprites out of order. If you want sprites to show up, I suggest you place them in the correct ordering. Otherwise, it gets messy and enemies sometimes pop up in the middle of the screen.

This is one of my short-term ASM ideas



I decided to create something more "human" to NES Mega Man games. While Mega Man is underwater, it's HP is decreasing. I'm going to create it in 2 sections for each released IPS Patch with source code.

1] Only HP is decreased while underwater

2] The Air Meter like in Magical Doropie when Mega Man loses the Air Meter, you start inflicting damage while underwater.

Here's the damn catch, The ladder TSA Settings while in water is consider as Air and the Rush Marine in Mega Man IV still generates bubbles while underwater and inside the Rush Marine. I don't know if I can reverse the code in Mega Man IV and I would suggest this ASM for Mega Man II also. (In that case, Mega Man II dosen't use multiple TSA settings in each level)

I know exactly what Retrorain is thinking as I created this ASM all night about 7 hours staring in my computer while listening to my music.

I don't actually create Hatsume Miku. I borrowed her graphics from Rockman 2. I bet you guys might want her in your hack and make custom levels at least.


This video is for ENTERTAINMENT purposes only. I'm not actually creating my MM4 hack based on her.



This idea is almost being finished and ready for release in Mediafire's uploader or my .t35.com uploader or either this board's uploader and I'm going to start putting the ASM patches link at Mediafire in my signature so you can always visit.

The code currently has technical difficulties and will be fixed eventually.

1] Every time I press start in the weapon menu and back, it's air meter resets back to $9C.

2] When a player dies, it's air meter should be restarted when it inits back in the same level with the water TSA attribute. Not empty.

3] If possible, the air meter should move it's X position to $20 or $30. However at $10, you can still see the air meter while your weapons excluding the rush marine (buggy) are still depleted each use.

I'm going to do the same ASM coding for Mega Man II and a possible Mega Man V. I never actually hacked MM5 in my entire life.

You know what the sad part is. I can't even write their hack info's. I recently now found out that Rock5easily released his seventh version of Rockman 4 Endless and I am no longer write their current release date.

I am attempting to find more Mega Man IV rom offset data that wasn't used in the document and is useful for everyone to use.

Whatever I find, I'll add new ones. I know for a fact that all RAM offsets is already covered.

Shoot! I was so close. I have everything right except the blinking part is the problem. This idea is now 90% completed and that 1 part needs to be fixed. And the Rush Marine drains faster underwater while you ride it in water (And before water) areas which is somewhat buggy.

I have uploaded the patch and ready to use. Source code included. Download

If anyone knows to fix the code properly, please feel free to do so.


I recently found the damage code but it will take a while to code it right and write down the source code. I'll make a re-release for it. For now, I'm deleting the file.

I have other ASM ideas in my to do list
- Breath Meter Code for Mega Man II
- Weapon Select for Mega Man 1. (Yay, no more pause cheating)
- Instank Kill Spikes for Super Mario All-Stars in all mushroom levels (SMB1).

Why I have a feeling that some public computers I use failed scripting. Every time I change my profile, I always become male. I have to use one of their computers in my workplace to change my original N/A gender.

I should never use public computers anymore. I rather use the ones at work or home.

There is no need to show the IPS patch because I've hack SMB1 for more than 2 years. You said that you use SMB Utility to edit right? Well, you need to know about the loop command editor and the loop command object.

If you want to edit the loops, simply edit the loop editor by going to "edit" and go to "edit castle loop". And if you're getting rid of the loops, please change another object number by dragging the "loop command" object or another hex value in the same d row.

I haven't checked SMB Utlity in a while but I'm using the computer at the workplace right now. I need to give details on the editor when I get home.

I've been doing my Mega Man IV project since June and I needed it to be more polished. My hack will have a lot of custom ASM changes and including enemy or bosses sound inits. (Like Bright Man's Flash Stopper Sound as he does in the Game boy MMIV) My last update of the project before heading some short term ASM projects that I completed the skull castle for the Wily Intro. Cossack remain the same.



Just like Smalll Apple's Rockman 2 dash hack or the existing Mega Man Powered Up project. I'm going to make MM4 more favorable and polished MM1 and MM2 stages.

I won't be using the breath meter ASM in my hack and it's still W.I.P. Only people with non-robot characters can use it.
