Does anybody know how to change the tile palette of the 1UP icon in the menu screen of Mega Man 1? The regular field 1UPs are already editable.

In commemoration of Mega Man’s 29th Anniversary and beyond!

Zynk Oxhyde previously released ROLL-CHAN for the NES! Roll-chan is a player sprite hack which replaces Mega Man with his sister Roll. Today Zynk releases FIVE new player sprite hacks, but this time for the GAMEBOY, ROLL-CHAN WORLD!

Continue the super robot girl’s adventure in saving the world against the evil Dr. Wily, the mad scientist who, once more, attempts to fulfill his ambition of world domination.

Just like before in the NES, Roll is joined by her trusty pet robot cat Tango, replacing the role of Rush the robot dog. All sprites and custom sprite arts are all done by Zynk. The player sprites are structured differently for the Gameboy so adjustments were made to accommodate the more limited tile space.

There are note worthy changes made to some sprites, i.e. Dr. Wily's machines in Rockman World 2 are greatly improved (managed to make Wily into his normal size); some minor enemies got improved sprites (e.g. Mag Fly, Peterchy, Returning Monking). AND a new character, Quart, the future version of Roll who was kidnapped from the future and brainwashed by none other than Dr. Wily.

Fight, Roll! For everlasting peace!

Hey,

I'm trying to use the CSA editor to edit MM5 sprites, but most sprites look like garbled mess in the editor. For instance when I look at sprite number 07 which is supposed to be MM shooting while running, not only the tiles are completely out of place in the editor but it looks like it's not even the right tiles showing.


Hi. The player sprites has different sets for some sprites. BTW 07 is the jump sprite.

Observe the PPU viewer on FCEUX and use YY-CHR to look at the offsets of the tiles used for that sprite.

I believe this is the pattern load you are currently using?

If you can manage a way to fit all the NES Mega Man games into one cart (like the bootleg cart with but SRAM) I'd recommend going for a Mega Man Legacy Collection instead of just normal Wily Wars. It'd be especially awesome if it was made to save the E-tanks and extra lives gained too, it's so annoying how those aren't stored in the password after all.

Just my personal opinion, I figure it may be possible since the 6-in-1 cart exists anyways.

Or how about MM1-3 plus hack where the Genesis Robot Master stages can be played with the weapons intact?

BTW, would this hack Megaman Origins get an update that doesn't include the whole roms in it? If this failed, how would Megaman 1-6 NES Legacy Collection happen?

Unfortunately my drawing skills are terrible, and so is my imagination. Though, they will get new or at least altered attack patterns!
You could ask for help with that.

I'm trying to hack Adventures of Lolo 1 using Neptune, but the interface lacks the enemy icons, unlike when used on Lolo2

Spoiler:

Right-clicking on the tile works, but the enemy placement needs memorization..

Anyway, this is my main problem, the items that trigger the bridge, hammer and arrows are not identified in Neptune (I even tried using HALed with DOSbox, but it also does not display the enemies or the items mentioned).


Apparently, I didn't read the readme file, tho the author was did not disclose on how to use his utility... Anyways, I'll share what I learned afterwards

The Quest of Lala is a complete level hack of The Adventures of Lolo. This time, the damsel in distress, Princess Lala is the protagonist and Lolo was the one kidnapped by the Devil King AKA the evil King Egger.

The levels are based on the PC game “Eggerland: Episode 0 - Quest of Rara”, but improvises were made since the NES game has limitations in displaying too many enemies and moveable blocks, and some items not available from the PC version (e.g. mirror blocks and the enemy teleportation bug).
The PC game has 32 rooms, so the unreleased "Kopio levels" are present to accommodate the remaining rooms.

This hack was made with the Neptune level editor.

If anyone has a copy of the original PC freeware game, please share it!

Sakugarne is a support unit for Quint in Mega Man 2 Gameboy, also featured in the hack.

I don't like Rockman2018NY, the battle in the beginning is too hard. I made it to the last form, died, and had to start all over again, I'll pass on this hack... 👎
The good thing about this hack is it gives you bonus HP when you defeat Rush. If you need strategy tips:

Spoiler:
1st form: Just fire away and stay away from Rush as far as possible so you could see if he will dash or pounce. His coil form has 4 hop attack has a pattern.

2nd form: Just fire away too, but charged shots are effective too. Be wary of the movement of the spikeballs. Just don't get directly hit by Rush.

3rd form: Just stay at the bottom and shoot at Rush only.

Last form: Friender has a teleport pattern at first half of his HP, then random on the second half and only charged shots are effective. There are specific patterns where Friender is placed and the shots he will use. IMO the this form is the most fun battle.

Anyone know how to adjust the cursor on Mega Man 6's title screen? I managed to hack-in the JP title into the US ROM, but the cursor is a tad lower positioned.
