This is a very odd wish, not necessarily for Fraxy itself but for the community. There was a person named Gradian who modified the Fraxy sprites and attempted to create a Gradius Fraxy of sorts similar in concept to Project G. It was a promising project but for some reason he stopped and also took the files down. It would be cool if he joined the community. This is an example of what he did.

If there was any story for my creations, it would be in their descriptions. As a whole though, not really. Simply "blow the living crap out of them!"

Ok. I think this tally has existed as is long enough. It will now become the official Fraxy Community Member List.

So now this issue has been addressed...

They have been known for quite some time but no one made a post concerning them. NK had talked to them first and then one of them joined and posted about their board and hasn't returned yet, which is unfortunate.

I do agree that there is some disorganization but it's more with the Wiki in terms of doing certain things. In that degree, I think I may have thought up too many ideas in an attempt to organize things and make it easier for others to use. On the board2 front, I think that things have been going very well and they are just as organized if not more so compared to the "old, official" Fraxy forum. This is especially true considering the circumstances that brought the "Compendium community" here.

I'm actually glad that this community has started up and brings up an excellent opportunity. Not to insult them but the "Compendium community" does not need another forum to make official. As I've said before, this forum as board2 satisfies our needs well. The Fraxy Academy on the other hand can definitely benefit from a forum of their own and I think that they should work more with this new Fraxy forum.

This is not to say that we should not open a dialog with them either. Ultimately, we should combine our resources and become a united Fraxy community with different aspects. As I see it now, here are the traits the communities have:

Compendium (Redux) - Vast information on Fraxy, evolving custom Wiki potential, creation posting and organization, big community.

Fraxy Academy (and assumed YouTube players) - Fraxy role-playing aspect, more interactive to others (posting on YouTube more), growing community.

New Fraxy Forum - Fresh group with potential, ability to act as a melting pot for other members/communities.

With these aspects, there is great potential to be had here. We must take this opportunity to help all communities to expand and join together. If we were to combine our resources, then great things can be had. Let us not waste this potential and I hope this makes sense to all.

I'm asking for an agreement to an extension to the Wiki, one I feel will make things a little more interesting. That is, assuming we have the ability, to allow direct viewing of YouTube videos on the Wiki.

Examples of this can be seen in See Featured Video and See Game Footage.

Do you think that this is a good idea? If so, post and I'll see if we can do it.

I don't exactly mean something like a "Featured Video" but that is a possibility. I was thinking more for a user's page for a YouTube video of theirs they want to post. This would probably be limited to 1 per page at a time or else it may get excessively big.

Ok, it is done. Direct YouTube posting is now enabled. Info is on the Wiki frontpage. Please try to limit your YouTube vids to 1 or 2 per user page or else it'll take longer to load your page.

If there is no further discussion on this matter, this thread can be locked.

I personally don't know too many either. If you're really desperate, you might give NicoVideo a try. Emphasis on desperate.

The extension just added for the Wiki, EmbedVideo++ can deal with videos from YouTube, Google Video, Dailymotion, FunnyOrDie, Revver, sevenload, and Interia.pl (some foreign site I think).

Maybe those will help you. =P

Some things here before everything explodes out of hand:

1) There is going to be no moving, or stealing, or hostile takeover, or superiority issues. There is no grounds for it as of now and it would only damage things for everyone. These "grounds" are only due to words and misinterpretations.

2) TBO's forum is new in concept and he is also new to Fraxy so things are expected to be very slow. As stewards in good faith, we should at least give it a chance to survive.

3) On that note, board2 does not need a Fraxy forum as we already have one here. The Fraxy Academy should instead use TBO's forum as I have yet to see anything like that over there. They can collaborate and shape themselves into something really good if done correctly.

4) Collaboration is the best policy we can have at this moment. The ultimate goal for us is to unite every piece into a bigger unit encompassing several possible aspects and more. Foolish competition and "dick measuring" will just lead to unnecessary chaos and hatred.

5) If change is needed, then it will happen. We have adapted before and it continues still. Board2 is still expanding, with the creation of the Frontpage and shows that it definitely has the ability to be our front. However, some desire something fresh or they want to try their hand in things. I will not speculate as to possible reasons here though. The point is, let them.

6) Let us not forcibly break up the community over such a silly matter. This should be an opportunity for congregation and teaching, not for hostility and hatred.

If this sounds familiar, it's because I stated this before.

And on a topic note: This thread is for suggestions for the Wiki, not for matters such as this.

This will be a place where I will showcase any new creations, updates to old ones, and any reasonably sound idea.

You can also visit my user page on the Redux here.

--------------------------

I have an idea that is similar to the Shadow FRAXY of AL69 and GoppleDanger of Nutman217 in that it's a mimic of the Fraxy fighter.

However, it will "evolve" at some point and gain different attacks and patterns.

In order to actually keep track of this, I've decided to split this project into parts and hope I can get it done correctly.

Phase 1: Distance/Player Movement Ability - Mimics the 8 thrust directions of the player and is to track the player as accurately as possible without ramming it or passing it.

Phase 2: Normal Weapons Layout - Add as many weapons as possible that give some resemblance to the player's weapons (Bullets, Shield, Blaster, etc.) This is now possible with the new event triggers involving the player.

Phase 3: Evolved Form Look and Movement - Make the evolved form shell, movements, and the transition scene.

Phase 4: Evolved Form Weapons - Add evolved form's weapons which are different from the initial set.

It will be called Fraxy-EM, EM standing for Evolving Mimicry.

Improvement of the Fraxy Room (-1, -2).

The changes mainly deal with an "issue" concerning the size of the people inside. The + - beams at the entrances increase/decrease the size of people entering and leaving. The top entrance doesn't get one since it's assumed people are small coming from there =P.

Also made the people inside a little bigger and added more of them. They are supposed to be working on those ships and the first version didn't convey that well.

Well, based on what I've tested, your theory is most likely correct. The main core is out of range and subsequently self destructs. For one of your first bosses it looks very good and complex. Salute to you and hope to see more! And also, welcome to the community!

You know what could be done to improve the interface? Set up the controls so they hover around the player. In this update, having parts surround the player is now possible. The setting is in the same section as "tail".

I remember seeing vids of it and reading an FAQ. Awesome game by FROM Software, the makers of the Armored Core series. So it's no surprise Metal Wolf Chaos is a mech game. I do find it funny that you fight against your running mate. Imagine if politics was decided by mech fights... >=)

It's located here: Fraxy Compendium Redux

If you have an IRC program, you can talk on #acmlm for board2's main channel and #fraxy for the Fraxy channel.

Hello and welcome.

To answer your questions:

1) There are several Cores that have Move Acts that follow the player. They are Big Core 1, 2, Fighter Core 1, 2 , Bit Core, Block Core, Cancer Core, Missile Core, Mini Core, and Head Core. I recommend one of the Big Cores or Head Core.

2) There are also a number of parts that turn every whichway. I suggest the Joint-Turn parts for easy angle aiming.

3 & 4) In order to effectively control attacks, use events that time fire. This requires monitoring what frame a single shot (or series) fire and then looping the Attack Frame so that it's at a frame before the shot is fired. Most weapons have a fire frame from 0 - 10. Making infinite fire is easy, simply do not count the number of shots fired.

5) To have parts aim at the player, connect them to Panel-Aim Player parts.

I suggest you look at these pages:
Reference Index
Event Turorials
