That's kind of like asking why you would want regular link in the game if oni link was in there. The originals have a lot of great and varied weapons that we're used to.

Okay, guys. I have the option to return my monitor which was damaged on arrival(out of policy range) for an 85% partial refund. That means I get $156.50 back.

This is the one that I have now:
Acer AL1916W 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Which one to buy?

HannsĀ·G HW-191APB Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built in Speakers = $184.17 (After shipping, taxes, rebates)
SAMSUNG 941BW Black 19" 4 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 500:1 = $169.95 (After shipping, taxes, rebates)
SAMSUNG 920NW Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 = $163.95 (After shipping, taxes, rebates)
ViewSonic Optiquest Series Q19wb Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built in Speakers = $155.79 (After shipping, taxes, rebates)

I was also wondering what is more important concerning monitors; contrast ratio or response time? If you look at the viewsonic, it has a higher response time than my original(5 ms vs. 8 ms) and a higher contrast ratio(700:1 vs. 500:1) whereas the samsung 941bw has the same contrast ratio as the acer al1916w but half the response time(4 ms vs. 8 ms).

A little off topic, but I heard some dude in South Korea fulfilled his army service requirement by playing starcraft. Wow, there are certainly a lot of revivals of franchises going on. (Fallout 3, Starcraft 2, GTA...) It's funny that the surge of games this academic year(that's how my internal calendar works) parallels a summer filled with sequels and book/comic/etc. to film adaptations.

Yea but I mean I'm mainly just looking for a replacement, I'm not specifically looking for like the best one. I'm looking for something that fits in the refund range and is better than my old one. So in that respect, isn't the ViewSonic like the best buy? It's cheaper than the rest and is definitely better than the old one.

The 941BW has an a-si TFT/TN panel
The Viewsonic Optiquest has a color TFT active matrix SXGA LCD panel
The 920NW has an a-si TFT/TN panel
The Hanns G has a TFT active matrix WXGA+ LCD panel

Is there any real difference there? The site you provided doesn't list WXGA+ or SXGA tft active matrix panels.

Ugh, that makes it even harder, considering that I do a lot of movie watching and video game playing as well as more static activity. Let me put it this way; I was happy with my old monitor. Shouldn't one with better response time, contrast ratio, [and price] and everything else be good enough? I don't care if it's "bottom of the barrel" if its better than my old one especially knowing that some monitors go for thousands of dollars.

Thanks a lot, guys. Well, since the Viewsonic has a large angle, I guess that's another pro. Also, I've checked reviews and the verdict is that it's flawless as a budget monitor.

Online has items turn off though. If its a competitive game.

Where'd you hear this? Last I heard online was still not 100% completely definite. Even though that was the first feature anyone heard about a smash bros. wii title.

The only MMO I am willing to pay for might be Conan, and that's only if the world is true to Howard's Hyboria. It should be expansive to create a better likeness between the virtual and written worlds. The vastness of races, countries, and ethnicities should definitely be included.

Yes, but the question remains.

The president has been kidnapped by ninjas.

Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the president?

So yea, new gundam tv series which hopefully will make up for seed and all that cosmic era crap. Here's what Gunota said:

A very short promo appeared after today's episode of TBS/MBS' "Toward The Terra" announcing a new Gundam series. Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (Double Oh) is set to air at 6pm on Oct 2007. The official site is up providing a streaming promo.

Known details are:
Setting - 2307 AD ("seireki", Japanese for "anno domini")
Characters - 4 Gundam Meisters, who pilot the mobile weapons.
Factions - Solestal Beings (not real sure on the English name right now), a private militia group whose purpose is to eradicate wars.
Tagline at the end of the commercial - "Rebirth begins through destruction"

Rumors about the series have been going around Japanese message boards for some time, especially after Sunrise registered several Gundam00 domains. The proclamation that the setting would neither be in the Universal Century of the original nor the Cosmic Era of Gundam SEED, as stated by Sunrise's Yasuo Miyakawa, seems to have been followed through with. Staff members are yet to be confirmed although the most persistent rumor is that the series will be directed by Fullmetal Alchemist's Seiji Mizushima.

Edit: The clearest look at the head of the main Gundam can be seen on the top page at Gundam Perfect Web.

Squee?

I don't think we have to wait long to hear a release date. Jeux-France says Mini E3(mid july):

Yes.

I heard it sucks because the fps isn't that great (smg is like a windex bottle) and it's not at all like the rpg. It's just like let's stick some magic and tech elements in there along with dwarves, elves, and werewolves. Retronauts for life.

Well it seems like it's in our universe this time.(AD) But I also wonder what implications that will have on the show or if they'll consider that much. (Maybe tie in specific present events to life 300 years from now?) Mobile suits go green? And I could honestly go a series or two WITHOUT something being dropped on earth. Or colonies having their populations massacred in some other gruesome way..

What I fear most is that I've lost my craving for Gundam. After watching Armored Trooper Votoms, I know that mecha anime does not have to follow the same archetypes or any at all. But Gundam 00 will probably do something familiar. Maybe they can capture that modern wartime feeling that Macross did. Civilians always as targets, always under fire. I mean while Gundam had a lot of civilian casualties, (largely from colony drops) you didn't always fear for the characters' lives EXCEPT when they went into battle. That's one really awesome point about the better gundam series.(especially Zeta) When pilots sortie, you don't know who would come back alive. Hopefully somehow they can mix the two and I wouldn't mind if they cut out the tragic romantic relationships that is also iconic of gundam.

UPDATE: Director - Seiji Mizushima
Series Composition - Yousuke Kuroda
Character design - Yun Kouga
Animation character design - Michinori Chiba
Mechanic design - Kunio Okawara, Kanetake Ebikawa, Takayuki Yanase
Mechanic concept design - Hitoshi Fukuchi, Kenji Teraoka
Animation mechanic design - Seiichi Nakatani

From Sotsu Agency's official website, the press release for Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the 12th Gundam TV series and the first to be broadcast in Hi-Def. The premise is given as follows:

"The setting is Earth 300 years from the present day, in 2307 AD. The series depicts the protagonist, Setsuna F. Seiei, who pilots a mobile suit (Gundam Excia) for a mysterious private militia (Celestial Being), going against a whole world where conflicts never cease and the struggle to eradicate war."

Bandai Namco's press release says the first Gundam 00 plamodel, the 1/144 Gundam Excia, comes in September. Outside of Gunpla, expect a slew of merchandising including figures, candy toys, vending machine stuff, apparel, video games, mobile content, and DVD & video.

I WANT to get the logitech cordless rumblepad 2 but i'm pretty much stuck with my sidewinder. I use the keyboard for most arcade games and use the sidewinder for like all ps1 games(castlevania chronicles and sotn, mega man x 4 and 5, fftactics, srw alpha, alpha gaiden), and some snes, nes, genesis, and other games. I also MUST use it for rondo of blood. The only problems arise when using the d pad. Especially when pressing down or up.
