While I prefer the stability of wired things... I do have a thing against wires... it's kind of a complex. Messes of wires make me all weird and I have to untangle them and make them look nice and tie them together with zip ties to make them look nice. Therefore I'm all for the no wires in that regard.

I like mostly every Sonic game pre-Adventure, with Sonic 360 being the worst Sonic game ever, in my opinion.

Has anyone here ever played SimTower? That game was kinda underrated...

SimTower was the shit, I seriously wasted my whole life in one year of high school playing that game.

Beh, just get a Linux with KDE. It's the kutest thing for your komputer.

(yeah, I know, it's spelled cutest and computer)

Okay, I'm a big Linux person myself, but it's just not for the everyday user, especially if they're fond of proprietary software not available to Linux users.

A) Get XP and wait until you have to get Vista (by which time it MIGHT work)
B) Get Vista and put up with the crap until it's fixed
C) Get a Mac (recommended, although I hear they are more expensive than PCs)

Honestly, I hate M$ just as much as the next person, but in all honesty, Vista isn't as bad as people have made it out to be. It's the first time I've installed a M$ OS without having to go driver searching after the install. It's actually takes advantage of the modern pc rather than letting resources going to waste... I'm just going on the record saying that Vista isn't as bad as a lot of people make it out too be.

As far as compatibility issues are concerned... I believe that there is a previous versions of Windows emulator for apps that may not be compatible built into Vista. None of the apps I ever when in a Windows environment have any compatibility issues with Vista, plus most OS's now are pre packaged with it anyway so that may be the easiest route for you.

Is it a possibility to 'salt' our passwords so even if someone acquires our md5 hash, they still can't do much with it.

Just something I'm throwing out there.

Making it change each time is a little more difficult, really

Not really, as long as you store what the salt is for each user, having a random salt isn't really that hard. I've actually got it working pretty slick on something I'm developing.

The salt is stored in the database...

The cookie contains id and password...

When user logs in, first grab users salt from database, append salt to password, encrypt password and match to previously encrypted password + salt in database. If does not match, login fails.

If your interested I could get you a my incomplete (very incomplete) User class from my current project so you can see how it's done.

When you have resources... why not use them... I mean what's the point of having a sweet graphics card, tons of ram, fast processor, if you're only going to use it to play games with, plus I like the black translucent window borders... they look pretty bad ass.

And I've never had Beryl crash on me once, and I find the cube pretty handy.

UPDATE:

Drag lost to Okibi.
I beat NightKev.
Noah lost to Violet.

Remaining people are Violet, me and Okibi.

It is well established that Violet is very good at Dr. Mario and if she gets to pick the match (If I don't get the byeweek) then it's pretty much over for us.

Hope for the best guys!

Ten bucks says Okibi wins, and thus keeps the proto again...

You know a software developer is an idiot if they have 'Microsoft Frontpage' stuck in their meta tags.

It's like you know how much I hate frontpage...

It's caused me unending amounts of grief at my job, especially when I'm trying to clean frontpage messes instead of doing actual development.

Thank God for HTML Tidy, seriously saves a butt load of time.

Alright, I'm in quite a pickle here. I have 54 PNG images, all of them 512 x 448.
What I really need here is to resize them all to 256 x 224. I was told that there's no resizing command for multiple files at once, and I have to do them one-by-one through Photoshop. After trying with both, AppleWorks and PhotoShop, I came across two problems:
-Photoshop makes a resized image blurry.
-AppleWorks is incapable of resizing 'perfectly'.

What should I do here? D:
Does anyone have a program that would help me with this problem, or anything?
Thanks in advance.

You could try cropping in Photoshop... usually when cropping down to a smaller size you don't get any blur of any sort...

Just a thought.

And if I'm thinking correctly, CS3 has a batch resize... don't know how well it works but I know it's there.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_dimension

I remember doing some 4 dimensional stuff in Discrete Math when touching on graph theory if I'm remembering right. Pretty crazy stuff, fun that is.

I've never been a Rubik's Cube person, although I did just teach myself how to solve the 3x3's last semester. Pretty fun and addicting. Although those speed cuber's are even more amazing.

Seems you already picked, and all of them would have been mighty fine choices... except for maybe C# .NET, that's what I have to do shit in at work, and quite frankly... I don't like it at all, everyone at work thinks it's the shit... but really, I don't see anything too special with it.

Now Ruby on Rails, that is just killer stuff, I set it up to test on my home box, and it's really really nice. I'm still a big php person, so I probably would of stuck with that. Don't know much about python, although I've heard good things, I need to dabble around in it a little.
