Flying is alright. Expensive though.

Greetings from 2005-06. Don't remember anymore, but I've been with a few of these Acmlm incarnations. Thought you guys could use some help reviving the location, and well, I've plenty of memories of this place.

It'd be a shame to have it go, so here I am.

I'll try to get some people interested again.

I'm not really dominantly convinced by anything. That being said, I was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Church of Christ at a younger age.

Growing up in the south is definitely strange.

I'm in college limbo. I'm not really sure why I'm learning the skills that I am. I just realized that I'm using my traits and talents to do really stupid shit. For example, this stems back to about 2007, when I was about 13-14, and had this reaaaally stupid idea that I could make videos as funny as the AVGN (or so I said at the time) and proceeded to make idiotic, pointless videos with my boyish high pitched voice, trying to be funny. It was awful, but my peers loved it. This has led me to believe I have some degree of untapped hilarity beneath me, so I made more videos.

I think I made like sixty up to 2010. I then got rid of most of them. And I had attempts that were less shitty than before. And repeat that into a new era, where I got rid of THOSE 40 odd videos. I've been working a few years, and saving up for cameras, tripods, editing programs, and the like. All while working on my skills in the classroom and out, not really giving it much thought.

I feel like, realistically, I'm going to end up making some really nice videos and shit, but still be working minimum wage or at some call center because I'm not really career diving with my talents. I'm getting trained so I can sit in my house and make less shitty videos than the last era of shittier videos.

And I'm enjoying it. That worries me. I made one last week, and am noticing I'm getting better (despite having no good equipment yet), and people still love it.

I feel like I'm at an impasse. I like making videos and editing them is great. But I feel like my idea of being able to get "big" with my entertainment is clouding my possibilities at having a stable career with what knowledge I have.

I'm not really feeling that posting the link to the videos is a good idea. Not trying to give the wrong impression.

In essence, how does one balance the right way to use these talents? This seems alot like being a musician... I'm just looking to have fun with it. I like separating my talents from work as to keep from feeling like its a chore.

Thoughts?

Yes. Although your name is very familiar to my eyes, I really don't remember our entire history together. We did... something. A few things actually. Some kind of spin off board, or a few of them.

I'll go some point in time. I was bummed I didn't get to. A lot of talented and funny people there.

Impressive work, by the way, I still lack the patience for such feats.

I'm trying to avoid being reclusive as well. I am keeping to myself a bit too much, and would like to change that. Also, in essence, trying to restore a virtual identity among peers.

Maybe an effort in vein because of the reduced traffic here, but worth a shot.

I'm surprised it is still up to be entirely honest. This place was relatively quiet the last few times I've been here.

I think, if that is to be the case, it has lived quite a long life considering the circumstances.

I know this is a really random thing to say, but it just was at the peak of my mind.

For some strange reason, the board's layout (despite its various security problems over the years) has always intrigued me. I've always it quite pleasing to the eye.

Oh man, no. I do not have this anymore if that link is broken. While it was a fun time waster, it critically was never fully fleshed out. The downloads around the internet are sub-par at best, if there are any. Sorry about that!

If I would be so kind as to suggest a similar game (with the same theme and engine) then I'd urge you to check out Super Marip RPG: Seven Sages.

I'm content with the board being around. As it stands, it's a nostalgic part of my life. Having it around is quite nice. Plus, it's my way of checking up on regulars from forever ago.

Haha, is this what passes as a possible flame war nowadays?

Welcome to board2. It's pretty chill here generally. Not a lot of room to step on toes here anyway. It's a vast ocean with around 20 fish.

Wooh, nothing like a ghost party.

And guess what? It only took me six years. The only thing I have taken from this long, empty experience is that despite only posting around twenty times a year, I posted too many things. I mean, my God, I cringe at the stuff I wrote online.

I have an absolutely awful memory, so I don't remember being such an arrogant bag of dicks to other users. Of course, this was years ago, but still. You think you know yourself, and then you look back and realize how fucking stupid you were.

Man, I used waaaaay too many emoticons. I have to dedicate the rest of my existence to building a time machine to go back and bitch slap myself. Holy balls did I need to chill.

I guess if there was a point to my rambling (other than your and my own amusement) it'd be that I'm astounded with how different I am. I'm sarcastic as hell, and fuck with people (in jest) just to be friendly, so I get really confused when I come back and see this Nazi kid bastard whom constantly dished out unintelligible criticism.

It just cracks me up that I posted some of the shit I did, anyone else have these moments?

And wooh, party and all that shit. Blah blah. 100.

Man, this place really is in a coma. It's almost sad. It's like I should come back in a few weeks to read the two replies I'm gonna get.

I'm actually surprised the hacking sections are still active, many of the users here double up on sites with more traffic.

I've been using this program for a while, bought it with part of my last paycheck and have been organizing little groups of people together for silly little activities. Anyway, I'm incredibly rusty at editing, and can't seem to find a way to get the shaking text effect in my video without saving the text as an image, making it transparent, and downloading it in. (around :44) Because for some reason, a huge selection of the textual effects present do not shake the text. I think this program is pretty nifty in almost every other aspect, and was curious if anyone else had any opinions on it. Does anyone else own this?

I had to save the text as an image and apply a border. It was slightly more complicated than it needed to be... it has plenty of other decent features though. And editing with it has gotten quite a bit easier and fun.
