- Threads are still marked read just fine here
- Most of the queries in thread pages are just the common ones ran on every page (get logged user info, update daily stats, increment view count, etc.), only about 3 of them are really for loading thread data

board2 was also 100% me until it was uploaded here, so it's not like this is XkeeperBoard or something either

But yeah, looking back at the old one after coding this is such a mess now

The problem was actually something else, but blackhole fixed it

if($thread[lastuser]==$userid && $thread[lastdate]>=(ctime()-86400) && !isadmin())

I pronounce it like it's written, so like "charr"

Funny thing about the "car" one is that "char" in French can be a slang word for "car" (but it also means "tank")

$1200, or $2100?

Makes me wonder who that check was to, or if it's one they just made to be silly, like to the computer

1992-1998: 512x384 (the only resolution I could use anyway)
1997-1999: 640x480 (on a 17" that could do 1280x1024, but I didn't feel the need for more)
1999-2001: 800x600 (640x480 wasn't enough anymore when I went online)
2001-2003: 1024x768
2003: 1152x864 (also when I moved my taskbar to the side)
2003-2005: 800x600 or 1024x768 (for faster Alt-Tabbing in/out of Gunbound, then I just got used to it again)
2005-now: 1280x1024 (since I got a 19" LCD)

A second screen or wide 22" would be nice too, at least for better multitasking

We still have old 17"'s here (from 1997 and 2000), perfectly working, although the older one isn't used anymore ...

The old 12" on my old Macintosh still works, too, except it doesn't have much use without a working computer (or hard disk)

I don't think I own any rare game here, but I've rented a few ... I just had no clue they were rare at the time

Like Tengen Tetris, Ogre Battle (SNES) and Kirby Superstar ... I think I've played on the TurboGrafx-16 twice, too ... then there was that time around 1990 when pirate NES games were all over the place, I remember playing SMB2j and some odd "Baby Mario" on the NES

I also see the last archive is from just before Legion and others turned the board into a mess (switching user id's and such), so there was a backup after all ... where did that even come from

I started with HyperTalk (HyperCard's scripting language) in 1992-1993 (until 1997) when I was 9, on my old Macintosh when it wasn't old yet

Then I did some Pascal in 1997-1998, QBasic around that time (or a little before), got Visual Basic in 1998, learned PHP/MySQL in 2000-2001 then C++ in 2002 ...

I also did a small amount of Java and Scheme at university, and Delphi once

When I first heard about "Wii", I thought it was the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi

"Revolution" did sound nice for a new revolutionary console, but since it's only the codename (like Nintendo DS was "Nitro") ... I felt the same when the "Dolphin" was officially named Gamecube, but I eventually get used to the official name

I can think of at least 2 others that came through about 5 incarnations, so it's probably not too uncommon for long lasting communities (server moves, etc.)

But the first one could definitely have lasted longer if I had stayed the only one with access and if backups were easier to make at the time ...

2- 1173 (1.96)
3- 145 (0.31, or 0.82 from when I started posting)
II- 61 (5.16)
Total: 40329 (18.09)

While it's not really a lot, this is still the most posting I've been doing (and most fun I had) since at least 2004, but anything before that would just be too hard to beat for me

New registrations will probably stay low as long as this board isn't widely known (most people ended up at ||board, not really by choice ), but maybe that'll eventually change ...

I played SimCity (PC, Macintosh and SNES), SimCity 2000, then (I think) SimAnt and SimEarth ...

I had the most fun with SimCity 2000 on my old Macintosh, although I hacked the game to start with $2147483647 ... I remember there was one city I worked on a lot Second best out of those for me would be the SNES SimCity, it just looked better and funner.

My sisters have been playing The Sims (1 and 2) and various expansions lately, though, so I think it's pretty obvious in their case

Unless the format they used happens to be smaller, that's pretty stupid

Another example (although not as bad) is all the unused space in SMB2 ... not just the leftover graphics from Doki Doki Panic, but those near empty ROM banks that could be merged into one ... the game could have been significantly smaller and then probably less expensive to make, but at least that makes it easier to hack without having to expand the ROM

It's not quite as bad when I set my screen resolution to 320x200 ... I guess going that low is actually useful for one thing

I'm thinking you had to not put that common non-consonant at all in your post, but I saw a word that had it anyway

And it's damn hard to say anything good with this
