So I just read the description and the first thing that comes to mind is why there isn't an official /fire command on IRC that like, automatically deops people or something.

I imagine it'd go something like this:

<@guy1> ur a fag
<@guy2> no u
<@guy1> That's it! Do you want to be /fired?
<@guy2> you wouldn't dare!
* @guy1 has fired guy2
<guy2> You can't fire me! I /quit!
* guy2 has quit IRC (guy1 is still a fag!)

I'm also never posting again if I've been deprived of sleep for more than 18 hours.

Weakling, I been posting while being up at the double of that time!

Of course, some people call me insane...

Hey, hey... I never said I wasn't a weakling. I just can't handle being awake for very long or I start to act kind of... eccentric.

Not to say I don't usually act eccentric Maybe I'm the insane one, who knows.

Until recently I had checked maybe once or twice a month, and even that stopped sometime in October. Nowadays, I'd say I spend about 45 minutes here each day, most of which is spent reading, making the occasional post or two or ten.

Most of my post count is just from the "new board" boom, and I imagine it'll begin to taper off after a few days.

いいえ。

I was kind of trying to learn Japanese for a little bit. No, I wouldn't call myself fluent. I know hiragana, katakana, and a few particles/words, but beyond that, nothing. I did understand the gist of the subject before clicking in, but I didn't actually fully understand it. That's how sad I am

Actually, the reason I stopped learning was because I realized I didn't quite have the resources to become fluent in Japanese. I don't honestly consider the internet to be really sufficient. I suppose the only way I'd really be satisfied is to actually go and take lessons, but I've never been very sociable, so...

Well, what part of Mass. do you live in? Place I go to is in Marlborough, and they offer group lessons as well as private, so if you're really concerned about the social aspect of it you could always go one-on-one. Of course, I believe that costs a little more ;x

well, I'm not quite as concerned about the sociable aspect as I am lazy, and I suppose thinking about it I'd feel more comfortable in a group. I live near Woburn, anyway.

To the Pink Floyd fans here: If you haven't listened to Animals yet, I'd strongly urge you to do so. The idea behind the album is kind of oversimplistic, but the actual music is probably the best I've heard ouf of Pink Floyd. It's... immersive, sad yet uplifting. Sane but bordering on madness. There's three main songs and two book end songs. Except, in stark contrast to Wish You Were Here, the bookend songs are short and the meat is in the middle of the album.

Animals is definitely one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums. I've heard a lot of people disagree with me on that, most of whom call it just plain unlistenable, but I loved it.

Aenima is also an awesome album and I'm kind of surprised I forgot to mention it. I don't think Tool's other albums feel like lifeless imitations, but it's definitely my favorite Tool album by far. It's also the only one I really listen to start-to-finish.

You make me a sad panda, Kyargu.

J/k, I already knew the reason why it was high. I just neglected to mention it.

Aww, I'm sowwy

If it makes you feel any better, your PPD is still higher than mine is, board date notwithstanding. And not to brag but my PPD is higher than it's ever been. It used to be like 0.0000001 or something ridiculously low like that, not that I can check anymore (thank you, database wipe )

Opera's "block content" feature is really, really nice.

I could handle (and thoroughly enjoyed) having one of those, but to have people quoting it to hell and back is painful

Shitty computer from about 2003, needs upgraded bad, but I don't have the money for it. Don't mind the graphics card, my old one just suddenly died all of a sudden and I had to grab a cheap-ass spare that was lying around. NO MONEY.

I'm about to install a new hard drive soon, but the thing is, I'm far too lazy to reinstall Windows and backup and reorganize and all that shit. Also, about ... 8 GB on drive C: are dedicated to Linux, which I hardly ever use and which is mostly for experimentation. Hooray!

And yes, I'm running Windows XP home too. Feel free to mock that as well.

I should also add, outside of some emulation, I'm not much of a PC gamer.

@Xkeeper: The SilverEX build is pretty spiffy, primarily because it's free. I personally don't like X-Chat (it's awesome on Linux, but slow and bulky, from my experience, on Windows), but I'm sure there are plenty of people who would totally dig a free X-Chat, so there you are.

Posted by HydraPheetz
No, it uses Perl (that should explain enough.) And there isn't exactly a Windows version available. And text-only (afaik.)

There is too a Windows version! (Scroll down to "Binaries", "Binary packages for older versions") Okay, so it's out-of-date (0.8.9 compared to 0.8.10) and I don't even think it supports scripting. BUT IT'S THERE.

On an unrelated side-note, I thought I had posted this before. Either it was deleted by communism, or... most likely, I forgot to hit submit while I was writing something. OH WELL.

I will also add that I'm an mIRC[loser] [loser replacing a slightly more derogatory word I was going to use]

I just find it interesting how this is currently the third-most popular thread on the first page, and the other two are ACS and the first thread, so they don't really count.

And yes, I did, in fact, mean ATS. God damn you, lack of edit feature.

The in-progress Cake set. I've still yet to complete the finishing touches on this one, but I think it's been rounding out nicely over the last couple months. Each level is perfectly customizable in terms of frosting and cake type. This makes for some nice diversity in the same vein as the original SMW.

...The funny thing is, I've always likened the original SMW's ground tiles to cake in my head. I honestly don't know if that was intentional or what
