You're not a very good troll.

You're not a very good linguist.

Sorry, I've never been a particularly good English student.

CUP looks a bit like a coffee mug with a hand holding it.

Well, they're all on the uploader, but how about some more stuff?

Here's a level!
And here's a particular song to go with said level!
Neither of these are finished, but I'll put them on the uploader as well when they are.

Yes. That is exactly what it is like.

Fire and Flames port is very nearly done but needs some octave work. I'm not too happy with the drums either. After that, I think I might work on a new level or two.

Ailure: can you put the wiki back on a permanent host? Right now it's kind of hard to ever find it.

I'd imagine he wants to use BMF's kit because it's more flexible. Boing, you could always head over to Badnik and ask the man himself for help.

Also, with some new levels, it might help if we got a new testrom assembled.

Don't you worry about that, I've been assembling a new baserom. Only things I need right now are Ailure's Rogue level and a few patches off SMWCentral, which is unfortunately down. (Off the top of my head, two-line level names and 3-digit coin counter could be good to have around.)

As SMWC doesn't look to be returning any time soon, I'm going to post what I have now.
New baserom
Has most sprites/fixes from Sukasa's baserom, barring frost cannonball, lightning2, bullet bro, laser, and SMB3 pipes. Levels on the overworld marked with a gray circle have been declared on the wiki but don't yet exist.

Edit: The overworld decided to be uncooperative, so you'll also need to enable up/down/left/right on all levels. I'll fix this myself later.

I'm sure a lot of people could look back at their old posts and feel like an idiot. I myself can remember some posts from when i was 13/14. It was pretty awful. On the other hand, pulling out an old laptop and finding a bunch of old files and documents is wonderful.

Would you quit linking this in IRC? It's fine and dandy and I'm sure everyone's seen it.

Although, on closer inspection, something about the eyes doesn't seem quite right. I don't see anything wrong with the nose.

That sounds like something that might be possible with a hex edit or two. I'd recommend looking through SMWCentral's lovely ROM map.

It also has legitimate discussion.

The default underground palettes for SMW are hideous. How's this for a replacement?

I'd rather like a somewhat more legitimate opinion of a palette.

Does this seem too "brown and grating," like a certain beloved superhero would have me believe? Perhaps I should lighten it a bit?

Rather funny you should bring such a topic up at a time like this. But yes, I do often prefer staying home to doing something with friends. It's not that I dislike being social, but sometimes it's better to have some time away from it all.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a fourth wall to go hide behind.

What the heck, I don't know who anyone is anymore.
But um, Halloween? Yeah, I'm enjoying it, mainly because of the TF2 update. No costume this year though D:

Not nearly enough hacking seems to get done to Earthbound, so here's a thread about it.

First, a whole bunch of useful things.

Second, some screenshots of that hack I'm sort of kind of working on but not very much.

Main character and some window graphics!

The hack stats at a hotel. A very gaudy one.

This is what the status windows are supposed to look like. You'll notice in the first screenshot that the top is a bit wrong.

Third, a warning. Map hacking in Earthbound is...well, frankly, a pain in the ass. If you plan on trying your hand at it, know exactly what you want to make beforehand, because there are a kajillion different tiles, some almost identical to each other save for maybe a few pixels. Perhaps drawing a set of simpler map graphics would be a feasible solution? *hint wink nudge*

Fourth, some stuff the first link doesn't have.
If you're musically inclined, why not try some music editing?

Either way, I changed the links, so hopefully they work for everyone now regardless.

Also, feel free to post any additional Earthbound-related tools you guys happen to find/make. I'm pretty sure I missed one or two.

Oh look, it's this thread again.

Acmlm stands for "I know how to type random letters into a name input." Now quit asking.
