I love Age of Empires II. I, too, am a builder though, and my capabilities for forging an army are quite low. 
I guess this is my curse for being more into Turn-based strategy (the likes of Civilization or Galactic Civilizations). I'm just not a fast enough mover for Real-time strategy games. I don't know the hot keys, and I certainly don't know advanced tactical strategies.
