Incarnation 1:
Long, long ago... Before your sun burned hot in space, and before your race was born... In the year 2001, I was searching for SMB hacks. I had been aware of emulation and, to a lesser degree, rom hacks for some time. But I had some trouble finding good ones (due partly to my search engine of choice at the time being Ask Jeeves ). Finally, I found Acmlm's Rom Hack Domain. It was a nice site, and I checked it now and then for updates. Then, on June 13th, I noticed the message board. I had never really been a member of a message board until then, sticking mainly to AOL's chat rooms, but I figured "What the heck, I might as well register!" At the time I was spending the summer at my Grandmother's house, and my family was in the process of moving from Chickasha to Ada. In a thread about Bouche's plans to remake Strange Mario Bros as a SMBDX hack, I made my first and most legendary post: [green]i'll make a smbdx hack as soon as i get my comp hooked up again[/green] By my ninth post I was already making rom requests (for SMBDX) and had found myself a lengthy block of text to use in my sig. Eventually I stole the code to Acmlm's sig and edited it, and thus learned to code tables in HTML, which would become helpful in my future status of post layout master... At least until Jesper came along and introduced CSS into the mix, but that's another story for another time. I'm getting off track, it's time to move on. Incarnation 2: I migrated when incarnation 1 died. There was much at the loss of SF threads, but I got over it. Incarnation 3: See incarnation 2. Board II: A wizard did it. |

I went further into the future than Tatrion.
The RPG was finished. It was playable using the mind-plug VR systems of the time. However, I accidentally went too far. I've seen the end of things. No one was spared. Not even the children. |

マホ?
I planned to start learning Japanese this last summer, but never really found the time for it... And I didn't really care for the books I bought (Japanese for Busy People). I'm planning on giving it another shot this summer, with the much more recommended Genki. |

Straight. I will admit to having found a guy attractive before, but only because it was a trap. |

Not the best picture, but better than most I have just because it was taken with a decent camera (by which I mean not mine). |

My name is Josh Davis.
Contrary to the previous statement about parents warning us about using our real names on the internet, it was actually my dad that set up my AOL screen name as JDavis1186 (November '86) way back in '93. It stuck. In fact, I originally signed up on Acmlm's as JDavis1186, but I had the 1186 cut off following one Christmas season (2003, I think). |

IT COMPUTES THINGS.
But, seriously, this is my computer, "MASTERSWORD": Pentium 4, 3.40 GHz 1.0 GBs of RAM (needs more RAM) NVIDIA GeForce 6600 and TV tuner stuffs Drives: A: 3 1/2 inch floppy drive, lol B: There is no B. C: "Local Disk", 298 GB (253 GB used), actually one volume over two "160 GB" HDDs. That's how the computer came set up, and I was too lazy to undo it. D: DVD burner E: DVD drive F: Memory Stick slot (did I mention it's a VAIO? ) G: Compact Flash H: xD-Picture Card I: SD/MMC J: Virtual DVD drive K: "Big Disk", 698 GB (192 GB used), actually a "750 GB" HDD. Why can't the numbers be true?! WHY?! KHAAAAANNNNN!? And sometimes L: My 1GB thumb drive. (Deku Stick). Yeah, all my tech is named like that. My old computer (now running Linux and used for homework in my CS classes) is dekushield, and my Linksys router is gossip_stone. "Big Disk" is pretty much just used for anime, and only complete stuff. I've got a number of series on "Local Disk" right now that I'm just waiting until I finish watching before moving over, so when that's done the used space numbers will shift quite a bit. |

Posted by AcmlmPosted by JDavisThat's because they use the decimal based units, while we normally see binary based units in Windows ... 750 billion bytes is 698GB, so there you have it I know, I just wish they were really what they claimed they were, just so I could say I have more than a terabyte of space |

Since I actually bothered to take pictures of my room around the same time I took the picture of myself in the other thread (when one of my sister's stupid emo friends brought her camera over), I actually have some pics to post in here.
Here is my computer. It is a blurry image. I cannot hold a camera steady. Here is my whole desk area. It is quite a bit less messy in this image than it is currently. Yes, it is quite dusty. My whole room is. There is nothing I can do about it. The act of dusting my room is a very temporary and futile measure which will be undone by the following day. The air filter in the upper right doesn't actually help much, either. There is supposed to be a big spindle of CD-Rs next to those two stacks of DVD-Rs and DVD+Rs, but my sister's emo friends swindled them temporarily. And here we have the "entertainment center" next to my desk. This thing used to be in the living room when I was growing up, but dad finally got a TV that wouldn't fit in it, so it got moved to my room. We can also see my old computer, the one I now use for my CS homework since it now runs Red Hat, sitting between the desk and the entertainment center. Oh, and my sister was playing Guitar Hero while I was taking these pictures, so that's why it's on the TV. Jumping to the corner opposite of the computer, we have my closet (full of t-shirts), my shelves, part of my neglected keyboard, and the top of my recliner (also a hand-me-down from the living room). Oh, all those magazine racks in the top of the closet, as well as the one on the entertainment center, house issues of Nintendo Power. I've been a subscriber since '98. Lord knows why. On a side note... DONKEY KONG TIE, FOOLS! These are the shelves on the wall behind my computer, hanging over my bed. They house my now-last-gen games, my now-current-gen (You can stop calling it next-gen, guys, it's here already. And really stop calling it new-gen. That's retarded.) games, as well as my DVDs and my various action figures/figurines/whatever (toys) that are more worthy of showing off (plus my old TMNT stuff since I haven't figured out where to put it). Older games are in plastic tubs on the bottom of the wire shelf the keyboard is on. There have actually been some games, figures, and anime added to my collection since these pictures were taken, so they're not up to date by any means. Oh, and of course there's the rear speakers of my 5.1 setup that I almost never use. I'm more of a headphone guy. And the wall to the left of my computer. I've actually added a Twilight Princess fold-out Nintendo Power poster to the left of the Sonic Heroes one since I took this. That about covers it. |

Well, that's more reasonable.
So is there anything else new in Tinasitter5 besides the 8Ball? |

It would be nice if she was able to tell us the same things the "tunabot" Tina does... Only maybe with some more configuration (like specifying which forums to pay attention to)... |
