Yes, I decided to make this thread, as some usernames can be harder to pronounce.

My name, is obviously pronounced [keɪtlɪn] (KATE-linn for those who can't read IPA).

So, how do you pronounce your username?

First "kurr", like purr but with a K sound at the beginning instead of P. Then the word "null".

In my dialect that's ['kɝ.nɫ̩] or some such. Yep, it contains two vowels that exist in almost no languages.

Ziff: You say your username as two syllables?

*watches as everyone holds their breath, hoping for Acmlm to show up*

Mine's easy, it's MAX-night.

And Ziff: I've always pronounced your name with one syllable, just like it's spelled...

But how do you pronounce data? Like datt-uh (a as in bat), or day-ta (a as in may)?

The second half should be obvious...

Yep. "Bluh-day-moe-awn", right?

That reminds me of when we studied Greek mythology and I thought all the syllable stresses were the opposite of what I'd expect in English like "SOCK-ruh-tees" instead of "SO-crates", so as a joke I would pronounce English words like that, like negative as "ne-GAT-i-vee" and such.

I think it's obvious. But for post count in case there are idiots in the house, I'll put them.

"loo-nurr em-em." Lunar MM.

Or...

"em-em." MM.

Or...

"maji-koo-paa mie-stir." Magikoopa Myster.

Or...

"jimm-ee tee."
Just kidding. But still. That's it. Simple, eh?

I've heard a lot of interesting pronunciations... all of them with different emphases...

("Wha" as in "what")

CAT - wha
Kuh - twah
Cat - twha
Cat -WHA?

Me, I do the third one (Cat - twha). Maybe because of my ... "SUTHERN AKKCEEENT"

Higs-be

I know a couple have thought the last syllable was pronounced "by" but it doesn't really matter.

Drag, A as in "flagpole", not A as in "awkward".

Realistically, it's "Dragon" without the "on" part.

rye-DAIN

A few people call me this in real life, and most emphasize the first syllable. I don't bother to request otherwise because I see it as a garden-variety difference in pronunciation.
