Finally got it too...

but another question, I own both, Sapphire and Leafgreen, and I didn't finish neither, so, how do you obtain the national Pokédex in Leafgreen and / or Diamond?

Leaf green: Enable trading with Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald by going through the Sevii Islands.

Diamond: View all pokemon in Sinnoh. (Note that this is view, not catch, and if you fight all the trainers which you probably should do for the experience the only ones you could possibly miss are Riolu and Palkia, and the mayor of Celestic will show you Palkia, and Riolu can be gotten from an egg)

Besides, I didn't think you needed the national dex in your advance game to make the transfer, being as its one-way and holds no bearing on the status of your old game's Pokedex. In Sapphire, you get the national dex simply by trading a non-native Pokemon in to the cartridge, though (since you DID ask)

Either way...

The only reason you'd need an older game is to catch as many Pokémon as possible without needing to trade for them. With GTS that's rather moot anyway as you can trade for whatever you want (as long as you've seen it) but for purposes of simply playing the game you need nothing extra.

I'm fairly certain you have to link it to Fire Red/Leaf Green/Emerald(with national dex), actually. I transferred a few to my copy of Sapphire from Colosseum, and the dex didn't go along with them.

Keep the save file as-is, move off the Japan ROM, and put back a US ROM named to match said save. All Pokemon and box names will remain intact, so it might be a good idea to see the Name Rater afterward. Your friend code doesn't get changed either. May I curse Nintendo loudly? Badge #3 is the fighting gym; easy for a flying-type. I used a Staravia at a lower level and one-shot everything but the gym leader's stuff, which I two-shot. Zubat learns Wing Attack at 17 and turns into Golbat around the level you mentioned, which has ATK slightly higher than Staravia's... So it really would be more suprising if you failed.

Colloseum works funny, its trading works a little bit differently and as such the programmers of the game didn't include the code which tells the game to enable to national dex.

I wish I had a Floatzel instead of a Emoloeon. Bibarel is maxed out on HMs and I need soemthing to learn Waterfall. Finneons such too much to evolve, too.

Well, there's the infamous Darkrai/Shaymin glitch in the Japanese version, and I heard of a daycare cloning trick on GameFAQS, but the details escape me...
