Already got a Skarmory with a Pokerus in exchange for one. Wonder what other crazy trades I can come up with for those guys.

My suggestions:
Keep Ponyta, fire pokemon are rare and quite useful for the steel gym too .
Get a Shinx/Luxio/Luxray or some other electric pokemon instead of the fossil pokemon.

Got it. I have a Luxio that I stopped using after the second leader, I'll just spend time in the water on Psyducks and stuff. But it doesn't have en Electric move yet...

An electric-type is nice to have for the water you need to cross via Surf/Waterfall, but it's not entirely necessary. At least there are several to choose from (Shinx/Pachirisu/Pikachu/likely more) Also, that Ponyta may come in handy for the 7th gym too, so I'd train it up some as soon as possible. It's kind of a pain trying to train a Fire-type without using the Exp. Share when most of the high-level Pokémon you see are Water-types, Ground-types, or Machokes, though.

So that means I give Ponyta the EXP. Share while Luxio upgrades to getting an Electric attack. Shouldn't I have got one before I got Charge, though?

Also, my Luxio may have Intimidate, but I have yet to see an enemy Trainer with the ability. It doesn't make sense to me...

Shinx/Luxio/Luxray has one of two abilities, Intimidate and another one I can't recall the name of. The other ability increases the attack if the foe is of the same gender.

I have a new Luxio (was Shinx) that began leveling up with the Pokerus. Dunno how much that'll help...

Also regarding Shinx/Luxio/Luxray, it learns Charge before it gets its first electric attack, Spark. Dunno why, but it does.

Last view: 4459 days 		At least Charge does something besides merely boosting Electric attacks. That's about the only advantage it has going for it.
It's about as useless as Focus Energy, in my opinion. Although it can save slight amounts of PP...

My Skarm that I bred from my very first egg is Jolly (+spd -spatk), has Keen Eye, and knows Drill Peck and Roost.

The only way it could be better is if it was Impish (+def -spatk) or Adamant (+atk -spatk), but I'm not complaining too much.

Now comes the fun part of deciding EVs and praying to whatever deity will listen for a pokerus infection. (I already know he's gonna get 252 speed EVs, but I can't decide between HP and attack for the other 252... or maybe even trade speed for HP/defense.)

DO NOT GET SPEED

Speed is a BAD idea. Skarm is slow, and you can't fight that. Attempting to make it faster will only allow you to outspeed unimportant things you don't have to outspeed and then die terribly to something because you put into speed instead of into defense.

252 HP, 252 DEF, 6 SP.DEF. Only way to survive.

I never understood why you can only get a max of 510 EVs total but it's 4 EVs to a stat-up. 510/4 != an even number (127.5) so that means there will be 2 extra EVs left over to do nothing with. Why not make it 512 or 508?
