Since it's almost April 22nd, which version do you plan on getting? Diamond? Pearl? Neither? Why?
Personally, I want Diamond. Dialga looks awesome. Time Roar sounds awesome. Murkrow's evolution is reminiscent of a Don boss, which is awesome. I'm not going to get it on launch day, but I'm still gonna get it some time and try it. What about you? |

I want to get both of the games
Hopefully they don't sell out really fast, as I'll pick it up after work on Monday... |

It's a brand new adventure. With a brand new attitude. So of course I am going to catch 'em all. Being the best I can be.
I have always been a fan of pokemon, I usually pick up the "combo version" of the games though.. Like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Etc. However I might pick up one of these versions... just to exploit what more than likely will be lovely lovely glitches. ____________________ |

There have been patched glitches. They have allowed the player to get 2 of the Event Poke's. (Darkrai and Sheimi). Patched, due to leakage. Yay.
I'm preparin' for it, I can't wait to start a new gen. Which starter will all the buyers choose? Mine are Empoleon and Infernape. |

Pearl. Mismagius all the way.
Also, I'm planning to buy Diamond for someone else I know IRL. So I'll always have someone close to trade and battle with. I'm also a part of a rather smallish community of people intent on the Pokémon Series. We intend to trade around really good breeder Dittos and other such things for Pokédex data. Also it'll be nice to actually be able to battle some of them, as I have no idea how I stack up to them in terms of skill. Are we to expect trading and battling here? I hope so, as it would be cool to be part of a larger community of Pokémon players... Also: Turtwig, which I will be starting with eventually. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Posted by Luigi-San Who is now a physical sweeper (the only good special moves he can now learn are Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, and Solarbeam. His attack is bismal.) I plan to raise a Rapidash (MEGAHORN!!!!), Staraptor, Weavile, Magnezone, Empoleon, and Palkia. Hopefully I'll get good IV's for a change... |

I'm getting Diamond because I like diamonds more than pearls. I'm not really concerned about what Pokemon are in which version. |

Most likely Diamond. I've played the Japanese Pearl, and will want Diamond to get those exclusive Pokemon. Note: For the first time in Pokemon history, D/P are actually smaller in ROM size than their original release. As more experienced fans know, this is quite unusual. ____________________ |

I'd prefer Pearl, because it has Houndoom and Misdreavus.
But since I have no DS, nor do I have any interest in getting one, I'm stuck waiting for a decent emulator. |

The American version's smaller because the Japanese version was actually overdumped. They're really the same if you trim them. |

Yea, both were dumped last night, and I already got my hands on the Diamond dump. It's simply amazing, best Pokémon I have played to date.
I was up for 5+ hours last night with energy drinks, playing nonstop. It's very fun, and it's pretty tough! The first Pokémon you fight in the tall grass are dastardly, and the first gym leader has three pokémon. This might not sound all that bad, but let me run it down for you. I had Piplup (now its evolved form), water type. It was level 14, and I had all other Pokémon at level 8-12. You would figure I would be set, as it was a Rock trainer. WRONG. Died twice. His first two Pokémon are Geodude and Onyx. Not so hard, one hit Super Effective for Geodude, two hits for Onyx. But then...He pulls out this new Pokémon that looks like a dinosaur. He then pops in and says "Think you can take down this one as easily as the last two?" (Trainers and Leaders pop out and say stuff some times during battle). I thought I had him, my Piplup having 40 HP and all. I took a stab at it, used my Water move, and it did maybe 1/6th damage. No biggy right? WRONG AGAIN. It used Headbutt, and hit me for OVER 40 hp, no super effective, no critical. This thing was a beast, I swear. The only way I could beat him, was by useing a X-Defend on my Piplup when I fought him, which still only stopped his attack down to 16 HP (in which I then used a Super Potion). I killed him two hits later and another super potion later, thanks to the Metronome I had equipped on the Pokémon (Useing a move repeatedly with Metronome equips makes it stronger and stronger every time). He got me down to 2 HP on my last hit. So yes. This Pokémon is hard, and unforgiving, but is completely fun in the process. I love it, and am about to return to playing it. Oh and also, the touch screen is used for this watch thing called a Pokétch, and it can upgrade with all kinds of neat things, like a calculator, a drawing pad, a watch (dur), a step counter, Pokemon HP, all kinds of things. Augh, I'm getting myself worked up, time to go play! ____________________ I miss post headers more. |

My girlfriend works at Best Buy, so I should just have her pick up the game for me as soon as she gets into work on Monday (at 08:00). |

I am gonna get Pearl for the simple fact that most people want Diamond. Therefore, whatever exclusively pokemon are in Pearl will be that much more scarce. (I'm assuming there are exclusive pokemon in each version)
It doesn't matter much, I have two very close freinds who are Pokefanatics and will most likely help me out with any pokemon I might need. What I want to know though, is exactly which older generation Pokemon are in Pearl/Diamond. I really want to end up with a full pokedex, I need to find out if I need to get LeafGreen/FireRed or Sapphire/Ruby or both if I want to complete the entire pokedex. *Heads of to Gamefaqs* Doh, I need em all.. |
